playing 1/2 at the mirage on saturday early evening, i end up exchanging words with a quiet, unassuming asian man in a black mandelay bay jacket as he was leaving.
afterwards, an older player at the table was like, "you just got in a fight with doug lee!"
and i reflexively said, "the toolbox?"
i was met with blank stares.
ps. doug lee wasnt playing 1/2. he was chatting with a player named sam. so not confirmed busto.
pps. it wasnt a fight. or even a dust-up. ironically, i was actually apologizing for possibly coming across like a toolbox.
Doug lee was (I just busted) on my left for the 6m event. had a chance to slowroll-raised w aa, he shoves on me.
Anyway, I snapped, won the hand v aq, and yet he takes a full minute to count his chips-then rearranges the cards on the board, takes my hand, creates a 5card hand w/ 4 aces (flop was a high). Finally, I say "ok, we get it, count the chips" and after another long pause, he finally does it.
Aside from that, he was fairly reserved and quiet, although he did flash his ring whenever possible
A new player was just brought to sit at Doug Lee's right with about 60,000. It was folded around to him in the SB and he completed before Lee moved all in. "Wow, you really want the 1,000 blind that bad?" Sensing the SB was going to pass Lee responded with "No, I want you to call, I want more chips". He passed anyway accusing Lee, in jest, that he was a bully. "I guess I am' replied Lee. Then the guy said something like "You know we're in a desert right?" and then shouted to his friend on the rail "You got the shovel?"
