Basebaldy finally eliminated the Super Bomber after about 4 hours of heads-up.

Re: Doug Lee, biggest toolbox ever?

At the risk of bragpost accusations, I feel obligated to share a few shining moments from the past few days:

Setting: $2500 Venetian deep stack ME
*there is a will 'the thrill' operated last longer with a $23.1k prize pool

Late Day 2:

4 tables left, 6 of us still in the last longer. Douglas and another guy approach me at my seat about chopping the last longer. I have like $500k which is above average.
I ask what everyone's chip count is and doug says we're all about even. I ask what his exact chip count is, and he replys: "$180k, but i just doubled up, and anything can happen."

Day 3:

I come in with a sizable chiplead with 13 left (4 still in LL). Doug approaches me as i'm unbagging my chips and says,
"Me and the guys from the last longer were talking, and we think we should all take at least $2500 out of the last longer. It's the buy-in back, and it would be good karma for you."

When we get to 3 handed we agree to stop the clock and look at chip chop numbers. Doug runs the numbers on his own and comes up with ~$15k more to himself than the official floor chip chop. At this point I tell the floorman to restart the clock.

During heads up play I have him AIPF for the win twice (A8 v 77, K6 v AQ) and lose both. I finally widdle him down under 14 BB's again and rip K5 from the button and he calls with AQ. This time I bink. He's 15 feet away getting paid out, and some blogger wants a picture with the trophy/chips/cards. Douglas leaves the payout desk, peels his AQ out of the muck, and says lets get a picture of both of us with our hole cards. Up til this point I had done my best to ignore doug being doug, but after 4 hours of heads up with Dougie I semi-rudely declined.

This is all gold. THIS IS SO DOUG OMFG. It makes me so sad that his 'backer' now thinks that he could somehow clear makeup (I hope to god he has makeup) one day.

Re: Doug Lee, biggest toolbox ever?

Doug knows someone at PokerPages. From the 5K Caesars Circuit today....

Monday, 27th of April 2009 02:45 PM

The room is quiet. Level two has ended and everyone is enjoying the first break of the tournament.

Nicholas Sliwinski, who finished 13th in the WSOP Main Event, is currently at the registration desk. He brings the total to 186 players, as registration enters its closing minutes.

Showing up right before break was Scotty Nguyen. Fresh off a WPT Wold Championship final table this weekend, Scotty will look to add to the nearly $300K he earned for finishing 6th Saturday at the Bellagio.

Also showing up right before break were Doug Lee and Scott Seiver. Lee, a WSOPC champ from back in 2005 when the Rio still hosted a stop, took a seat on the right of Isaac Haxton and immediately dumped a pot to a Hax re-raise. Seiver, a bracelet winner since last series, just sat down with bracelet winner Mike Sica, WPT winner Eric Hershler and Tony Dunst, who just moved after a table break.

In level three now with 100-200 blinds.

Re: Doug Lee, biggest toolbox ever?

I assume Kaelaine, the tournament reporter, would know who Doug was, or maybe he just told her.

Re: Doug Lee, biggest toolbox ever?

Gobby and Basebaldy stories have pumped new life into this thread. Absolutely epic.

For anyone out there who may have actually started to feel sorry for the guy after the abuse he's taken, just re-read all of the stories ITT. I know many of you can't even believe such a person exists, but I can tell you from first hand experience that he definitely does.

A human being has never come along with such a high level of the douchebag/tool/angle-shooter combo as this guy. It is truly a once in a lifetime thing to behold in all of its greatness. These stories will be passed along for generations.
