Can any one really arguee that Doug Lee is not the GOAT?

Not for nothing but this thread is coming up on being 10 yrs old, 10 years of mockery and bullying of a socially awkward but otherwise benign human being. That's a long time, ten years, I think a lot of people change over the course of a decade. I don't know Doug but I've played with him a handful of times over the years and his personality may rub people the wrong way, but he's not disruptive or overly malicious. As seen on the videos above, this human being's entire existence is affected by this taunting and bullying. If he's a toolbox fine, lots of toolboxes out there, 10 years of this **** weighing on a fellow human being's mind is probably a long enough sentence. Thread should be locked imo.

As somebody stated, he is more cult hero itt, happy-go-lucky mascot, maybe in little lunatic way. There was some angleshooting digression but I count it more to his special view how we can apply rules. Although some psycho can take it as pretense for bullying.

I agree with this. He is poker royalty now, tho, and Doug embracing all of this would be his optimal line.

I'm guilty of catching many laughs from this thread over the years. But your post is on point. Eloquently stated... and I completely agree.

Long time entertained lurker, maybe first time poster in this thread, I forget. Anyhow, if the thread wants to make fun of Doug for no good reason then by all means pull down the curtain. There are plenty of self-important poker players out there. But, if Doug is still shooting angles, well, that part he brings on himself. Judging for the lack of activity in the thread, perhaps his borderline angle-shooting is decreasing.

This. I second this. Love the thread and like Doug from all the stories I heard :-)

Almost positive I played 1/2 with Doug at Commerce in 2016. He punted off several stacks. On his last bullet he bluffed all in and I snapped him off with 2 pair. It was like super obvious he was bluffing. Biggest stack I ever had at Commerce lol.

I also agree. Close or lock the thread. There are probably multiple posters in this thread that deserve much worse than this guy.

not sure why this has any bearing on why this thread should be closed or not. if you're withholding information about other people's nefarious activities, please do make a thread about them or there may soon be one about you.

Early in the thread, Doug’s angles were prominently featured. I haven’t seen one of those in quite a while. It is those that define the essence of a Toolbox, and without those, the thread seems sad and old and a little bit childish.

Just my two cents.

Played with Doug today for first time. Been in many tourneys with him but never same table. He seeemed fine. I didn't see any angles. Was nice to me. Fwiw.

I played with Doug Lee at the Venetian DSE $600, twice (They have 3 starting days). Didn't sit that long at the table with him, but sadly he didn't do anything out of the ordinary. He did Value bet me and being the station that I am, I payed him off.

I was really hoping he would do something crazy, but sadly he did not.
