wow...i feel like such a toolbox myself. i have overlooked this thread for years and just started to read now...pure gold. wish you could rate this 10 stars
Great videos Doug!! Sorry to hear your feeling butthurt over the thread. People can be so mean. If you think about it, there are many excellent tools in a toolbox and they are very handy for carrying tools. I think you should embrace the "Toolbox" nickname, it has a good ring to it. Doug "Toolbox" Lee, or maybe it would sound better if you were "the Toolbox". Doug "the Toolbox" Lee. Well, that kind of loses the zing, so, maybe you can hash that out later. Ask Laura for her opinion.
Keep'em coming Doug! I have your Circuit win on my VCR on repeat. You are the best I can't wait to try to read the advanced book you might write one day for us masses. I hope I can comprehend it and learn all those secrets to become a "good player".
Wow, this thread just keeps on giving! THe delusions never stop apparently. The funny thing is that most of what we're talking about has nothing to do with Doug's poker play (which to be fair, his results are way better than most of us), but with Doug's toolboxness (is that even a word?). "You know me from TV, but what's your name?" Cutting in line and then autographing some guy's hat. Always talking about beating those big names at a single donkament. Flashing the ring everywhere. Angle shooting, then claiming it's not angleshooting.
Even if that pic wasn't photoshopped (I actually believe him on this one), that doesn't make up for the creepy pic at Hachem's house where it's obvious he wanted to take his picture with the Hachem family photos. You really think TOny is that bad of a photographer?
Watch the Quad Jacks interviews again. You'll love it.
I was playing in the Little One for One Drop the other night, $1,111 buy-in at the Rio, my first table I got seated in was very talkative and somehow we started talking about Doug Lee since two guys at my table have been watching this interview with Doug where he claims that he's working with 10 clients, and that he's charging them 600 bucks/hour for coaching, obv. the other guys at my table burst out laughing when they heard about it since they've heard some awful things about Doug Lee.
I don't wanna mention any names but this guy at my table is a some what well-known poker player and he have heard this story about Doug Lee, which he now wanted to share with the guys at my table.
Few years ago this guy at my table played with Doug in a WPT tourney at the Bellagio, and Doug did some sick angleshooting that time. Doug was thinking about making a hugh call on the river, some guy went all in on the river, and from what I was told it was pretty clear that the guy had the nuts and Doug had some weak ass hand hand, the floor manager called over and he started counting down from 10 seconds.
When it was like 4 seconds left Doug started to get nervous and grabs all of his chips forward very close the marked line at the table, trying to get (I do'nt know) but some kind of a reaction from this guy with the nuts. And from what I was told everyone including the floor manager stared at Doug and was like "What the heck are you doing?", I dunno if Doug got some kind of penalty but that was how he ended the story.
Congrats, this is probably the least interesting story I´ve ever heard of
