Dare not call it a bracelet again, you ignorant fool. Bracelets are for hookers and poor people.
epic stuff

I finally got to meet Doug Lee today.

It was a chance encounter. I was at the Rio, in the "Thunderdome", watching the featured table of the Main Event. The seats were surprisingly empty. About 15 minutes later, Doug came in and sat in the row in front of me. As he walked up the row, he glanced at the QuadJacks shirt I was wearing.

At first, I wasn't entirely sure it was him, as I had just seen his face for a few seconds. But then I spotted the ring! I deliberated for a few minutes as to whether I should introduce myself, but he was destroying a box of Nachos, so I decided not to bother him. I got up to leave, planning to catch up with him later. But as I approached the exit stairs, out of the corner of my eye I saw him staring at me.

So I shrugged, walked back, and said hello. I introduced myself first by name, then as SrslySirius. Neither seemed to mean much to him. He gathered from the QuadJacks shirt and press pass that I was in media. I told him that I am, but that I also write songs about poker from time to time, and that I have even written one about him! He replied, "Many songs have been written about me."

I didn't really know what to say to that. I laughed and mentioned that Marco and Zac are around, and would probably like to see him. He said he'd be around. Then I left.

Doug was very polite and friendly. It was an honor to meet the world champ.

p.s I'm not a MM fanboy just respect what he's done for the/his game over the years.
wp. I totally agree. He carries a burden probably nobody can relate to, being not just a former ME champ, but being the main catalyst for the poker boom over the last 8 years or so. Imagine how different the landscape would be had he not won it.

Imagine a personality like Jamie Gold winning at that time? I doubt a lot of us would even be here.

He is a good sport and takes it in strides, but this should stop. Shame on all of you.

He did not just win a WSOP event, he took down 1st in April twice this year, for 13k, and 27k at the V, he also won the 1k Doyle Brunson 5 Diamond for 44k last December.

He has almost a million in winnings, and no doubt realistically prob 350-500k overall in profit, which is a hell of a lot more then most of you people will ever make. Stick to your daily $11 MTTs and your $22 SNGs, and maybe, just maybe you can one day hope to play in a WSOP event.

Go ahead, look him up, and ask yourself where is your bracelet? Where is your hundreds of thousands of dollars NVG? Leave Doug alone.

Signed,
SUPER KITTY
I have a bracelet and believe Doug Lee to be atricious at poker and a huge toolbox! Does my opinion count now??

And yet it seems like everyone here loves some guy like Chris Moneymaker who is really terrible.
Moneymaker realized he had flaws in his game, he never claimed to be the worlds best, but he played a phenomenal tournament unlike jerry yang and varkonyi who just had the deck run over them for a week straight, moneymaker pulled off some amazing plays that were far ahead of his time in poker.

Seriously? You get more recognized than Hachem in North America? Unlikely.
