Doug Lee, biggest toolbox ever? Doug Lee, biggest toolbox ever?

11-01-2010 , 10:00 AM
Was sat in a 2-5 game at Venetian with 'The toolbox', actually couldnt believe it was him. You know, one of those moments when it hits you that your sitting next to an icon.

I remember Doug opening pots to 11 and 12 and berating people for opening to 15 and 17. One guy snapped back at him and Doug told him basically he better mind his business. This guy then decide to call him 'Bruce' for the next half hour.

'Is that a raise Bruce' or 'Hey Bruce, how much you have behind'. This continued for a while till DL called a floor person to try get the guy removed saying he was abusing him.

Pretty soon this guy started rolling off Bruce Lee quotes like 'A quick temper will make a fool of you soon enough' or 'Notice that the stiffest tree is most easily cracked, while the bamboo or willow survives by bending with the wind'

After 10 inutes of this Dl stormed away from the table to a chorus of 'See ya Bruce' from everyone.

Epic

2/5=increments of 5 on open sizing. Nice try, though. :-)

Sat at a new 2/5 to the left of doug. He was pretty nice while playing terrible poker. He bought in 4 or 5 times for 200. Disappointed I didn't notice any toolboxisms. :-(

Cool story bro

Friend just told me he dealt to Doug Lee, and he tried hiding his big chips. He said when he sat down he had the black and green in 40 stacks, and the yellows in 20 stacks behind them, lol. He told Doug who acted like he didn't know the rule. Then when he left the table and walked by a few min later Doug had once again tried to hide his chips, they told the floor who then gave doug a huge lecture and a warning. Doug Lee is a TOOLBOX !!

The Toolbox is a freight train of toolish behavior that will never stop.

Your quite clearly a ******. Just a quick FYI, in a NO LIMIT game he can open to whatever he likes therefore 12 ad 17 are quite acceptable

Actually, the resident ****** is you. In many live 2/5 NL games, only red chips ($5) and higher play (with the exception of paying the SB), making open sizes limited to increments of $5 as odd sizes like your $12 and $17 require chips that aren't permitted.

You see, NO LIMIT means there is no MAXIMUM bet size, not necessarily that all bet sizes are legal.

limit [lim-it] -noun

Games . the maximum sum by which a bet may be raised at any one time.

Thanks for trying though. Obviously self-important toolboxes with <50 posts are right at home in this thread. Yes, I'm talking to you MX210.

Thought everyone would like to know I got all in behind on the flop with 2 outs against Doug Lee in the $560 Venetian yesterday and obviously spike it on the river.
