Albert Kim, Jamie Gold, Ali Nejad, Eric Molina, Tiffany Michelle.

Those 5 are not in the Toolbox upper level?

You see, Doug Lee Toolbox is unique. He is a toolbox angleshooter..... the supreme toolbox, if you will.

Another thing is... Annie and Phil have had plenty of threads made about them.

Doug Lee toolbox gets one. This one.

I would welcome some real-life anecdotes of non-toolbox behavior exhibited by Doug Lee toolbox, but I'm guessing we won't see much here.

Yes, I hate Tony G. much more. He's an ahole.

Doug Lee has a certain humorous quality that these other people you mention do not have. Perhaps that's it in a nutshell. He's amusing..... even when he's being a complete toolbox. It's not always a "laugh at him" type of amusement. Sometimes it's a "laugh at the situation" kind of humor...... although most of the time it's both.

Those other people you mention are just aholes who should probably get beaten up and certainly (especially in Hellmuth's/Tony G's case) shouldn't have the fans that they do.

imo
I agree. Tony G is a legitimately mean-spirited *******. Helmuth is not an angle shooter as far as I know, and more of an egomaniac that a mean-spirited guy.

Doug Lee is... a tool. A clown. An angle shooter. A strange, unique case.

I'm seriously, this thread is awesome. I just went busto while reading, and I don't even care. I submit that Doug Lee can cure cancer.

Please..... patience. The stories will come. You can't rush this stuff. First, the story has to actually occur, and then the person(s) involved would have to have heard of this thread in order to share. You notice some of the stories are old because either the thread hadn't been created yet or the person hadn't heard of the thread?

The stories will continue..... unless:

1. Doug Lee changes his ways and becomes a nice, non angleshooting toolbox.

and/or

2. The interweaves disappear (even then, the stories would live on through word of mouth).

There are a few photoshops you might be interested in in the poker film titles thread.

I'm semi-new to the site. I had a different user name several years ago and rarely posted then. This is the first I've seen of this thread and I'm sorry I haven't seen it before.

This year at the WSOP: I'm in the payout/player services area, talking to my boss about nothing and Doug is at the cage, registering for an event. As she and I were walking through the area I said something about being in the box. Doug turns around and says, "what did you just say?", sees that I'm obv not talking to him and turns back around. I had no idea why he would have a problem with the word "box" until now. Good work, everybody.

My first run-in with him:
2006 WSOP was my first WSOP. I was nervous about dealing to pros as most dealers are that are fans of the game. My first table players are showing up and giving me their receipts and showing ids. Doug shows up and hands me his receipt and waits. I asked him for his id and he gave me the(loudly) "don't you recognize me from tv?" I said, "I guess you don't need to show me yours, Doug." He glared at me and from then on, I pretty much decided that professional players are all tools.

I was at his table in the WSOP $1500 6-handed event for the last few levels of day 1. I'm new to poker and so I obv. didn't have a clue who he was but my impressions of him were that he was a really nice guy. I had a short stack during bubble time but I was excited to have run deep in the tournament and having a good time so I would joke with him and the other big stack at the table when they raised my blinds. I like to think I have a decent bs detector and to me he seemed to be a genuinely nice guy at the table in a non-angle shooting way. After we bagged up our chips he even came over and said he was happy to see me make the money and we spoke for a few minutes. The next day I passed his table when I was heading to the restroom and he smiled and asked if I had doubled up. The whole time I was around him he never mentioned who he was or acted in a holier-than-thou I-have-a-ring-lol way at all. I finally found out who he was by asking another player after he had left. I guess someone had to post something nice about him before 1500 posts in his thread

cliffnotes: played w/ Doug irl and he didn't seem like a toolbox.

proceed with the ringaments
