4 betting with 33 with no fold equity! The Canadian Super Bomber is BACK!!!!

Lee Ousts Negreanu

After a player in the cutoff opened to 2,500, Daniel Negreanu reraised to 27,000 from the button. The small blind folded, and Doug Lee pushed all in from the big blind. The cutoff folded, and Negreanu made the call with his remaining chips.

Lee showed {3-Diamonds}{3-Spades}, and Negreanu {A-Clubs}{Q-Spades}. The flop came {Q-Hearts}{5-Spades}{4-Diamonds}, giving Negreanu the lead. But the {3-Clubs} on the turn meant Kid Poker had suddenly gone from way ahead to way behind. The {A-Diamonds} on the river gave Negreanu two pair, but it was not enough to overcome Lee's set. Negreanu is out, and Lee now has 178,000.

I'd think DN is more likely to remember the hand accurately than someone trying to cover the whole tournament so I'm gonna go with that he called with 33.

Dennis Phillips Doubles Through Doug Lee
With 20,000 chips already in the pot on the A72 flop with 2 diamonds, Doug Lee checked from the small blind, Dennis Phillips bet 20,000 and Lee called. The turn was a 6 of spades. Lee checked again, Phillips moved all in for his remaining 25,000 and Lee made the call, turning up KJDD for a flush draw vs. Phillips' AA. Lee couldn't get there on the river, which fell the 8 and Phillips doubled up to 113,000. Lee was left with 64,000.

I should have gone to Dougs poker school to learn how to beat QQ with 5 3 off ....

Fron Dougs Website....

Poker Club & School

In the fall of 2006, we will be opening a poker school where poker players can learn how to improve their game. Our team of instructors will include all levels including beginner, intermediated and advanced level players. One aspect that we can teach is emphasizing good money management skills and using extra won money to play in satellites tournaments to get into big 10k events. For example, Chris Moneymaker turned a $40 tournament satellite win into 2 million dollars. Doug Lee did the same in that he won a satellite to win the World Series of Poker Circuit Championship at the Rio.

In the more advanced course we will teach you how to play bigger tournaments and be able to compete and have a strategy to be able to beat the pros. Doug Lee recent success in being able to beat World Class players such as Phil Ivey, Jennifer Harman, Ted Forest, Dan Negraneau and Johnny Chan has led him to 3 TV final tables in 2005.

Our poker club will involve a weekly/biweekly fun tournament where the top 3 players would get prizes. This is a chance to improve your tournament play and be able to compete against friends and new acquaintances. You would accumulate points and the top player at the end of the year would receive a grand prize. (ie. trip to Las Vegas with airfare and hotel paid for.)

Please check back in the fall for membership rates and sign-up information.

From Roy Winston's blog about playing a WSOP satellite:

"It was actually a tough line up for a WSOP satellite. One of the great things about the WSOP is that the field isn’t the regular group of grinders that you see everywhere. The group in much more diverse with a wider range of skill sets, which is the nicest way of me saying that some of the play is really pretty bad. This satellite had several strong players including Will “The Thrill”, Doug Lee, and several others I know to be solid."

The Superbomber rises from the ashes...

Another Kind Turn for Lee

Doug Lee was just all in preflop for 89,000 with pocket kings against Jeff Lisandro's AQ. The flop came A86, putting Lisandro in front. But the K on the turn propelled Lee back into the lead. The river was the 4, and Lee now has 200,000. Lisandro has slipped to 190,000.
