then stars makes $ off of you. pretty simple. regardless of whether or not you start games, although obv alternatives scenarios are possible where you withdraw more than you contribute in rake and it's still good for stars if you play on their site, just because you start a lot of games. but overall your post is just fairly inaccurate.
False. I have a room with money in it. I charge you $10 to enter. You pick up $15 and walk out. You have paid me $10 rake and only withdrawn $5. Have I made money off you?

Taking action might not help, but if we do nothing we are sure to get raped and it sets a dangerous precedent where Amaya believe they can do anything. What if they decide to add a 10% fee to deposit and withdraw? Amaya took a massive gamble purchasing the company. They thought they would be able to move back into the US and have taken out massive loans to facilitate this. Things aren't looking so rosy now and they are taking a very worrying short-termist mindset. Great post here:

Some players are worried about sitting out and others are worried about pledging support in this thread because of backlash from Amaya. If a sitout garners enough support then Amaya cannot ban them all. The do no play for a day idea is great, hopefully both can happen. A poll is a way for people to pledge support anonymously.

Lol so true.

I'm sure traffic won't even be dented if all 2+2 players quit.
I don't think they will miss business from players making consistent withdrawals.

+1

I think the majority of posters in this thread have never taken a philosophy or economics 101 course.

Google "Prisoner's Dilemma"

trying to get all the regs to sit out is exactly like a version of Prisoner's Dilemma.

I actually have experience with Prisoner's Dilemma in a real world business setting and I can tell you 100% that it plays out exactly as theory predicts.

The day you try to get all the regs to sit out, is the day 25% of regs purposefully decide to play because the remaining 75% are gone

Even though logically the long term benefit outweighs the short term benefit, it is human nature to not be able to overcome short term greed and gains.

So yeah, no way you get 100% of regs to sit out when the act of them actually sitting out means the games become super juicy...

But I will say, in theory, it's a good idea. UNfortunately, you are dealing with people and people suck

It wasn't meant to be a perfect analogy it was meant to show why your logic has huge holes in it. Your logic was "if I give them more than I take out they make money off me". I gave an example where someone gave me more than they took out and I didn't make money off them.

No you didn't. You gave us room that's handing you 5 free dollars (I'm assuming I haven't deposited previously).

Either I'm misunderstanding or else I want the address of that room.

What is the point of being an obnoxious asshat and opening tables and sitting out? Pretty simple to decide on a day and tell everyone to not play on Pokerstars that day. The whole sit out thing tilts me and sounds like an idea a 12 year old would come up with. There are more mature ways to get your message across.

The money in the room is not yours(pokersit deposits from players), so yeah you made 10$ in your safe that you would not have do letting this guy enter the room and leaving with 5$

somebody said about playing on another site, this might be even more effective, if we can get enough numbers doing this! Somebody reputable needs to weigh in here and really sort this out. Come on people have some pride

1. lower rake (than PokerStars before the rake increase)
2. faster cashouts (measured in hours, not days)
3. no dox
4. 50% tablestarter rakeback, krill (SWC VPPs) level never resets
5. all games in bitcoin (government cant freeze like dollars/euros)
