Typical short sightedness in this thread. 5th Nov is too short notice for any real type of movement.

A better strategy would be to designate a day where everyone does not play. Designate the 5th of every month as Amaya day. And on Amaya day you don't play. Pass the word. Make a catchy Meme and marketing type flyer that goes viral.

Then as the movement grows, you increase the days, designate the 5th, 15th, and 25th as Amaya days.

The real test will be when an Amaya day falls on a Sunday. If you can significantly affect Sunday then you have some ammo for negotiation.

Lastly, the meme/marketing needs to list reasonable terms.

Near as I can figure, the terms and stuff Amaya is doing isn't all that unreasonable and most fish aren't gonna really care.

In any event, that's my two cents to help your cause...

a full day of sitting out/no one playing would have a much larger impact imo, this is definitely a good idea

As long as regs keep playing on every non-Amaya day, paying the increased rake, this won't even be noticed. A week long boycott will barely be noticed, and will be explained as something else (unusually warm temperatures caused people to play less poker indoors or something ridiculous). You would need to boycott for at least a month for them to take notice of this, which most regs couldn't afford to do.

Why not? TwoPlusTwo is a trusted name, and trust is worth a lot in the online poker industry. Seems like a perfect opportunity to launch a competing site. There is no reason why players should be paying more than 1 percent in rake and fees these days, especially with the low transaction costs of things like Bitcoin.

lol at this, all thats going to happen is they are going to restrict you to 1 table or temp ban you.

The only way you can do anything is if you withdraw all your money and then email them and tell them why.

Nobody buy gas on Nov 5th either, Exxon will then have no choice but to drop prices to $1.50 a gallon.

rather than designate a day not to play, designate a day to play on other sites, or better yet, just start playing on other sites. vote with your dollar, it's the only way to bring about real change. however, if stars is still the best site to play, you either play, or decide that it's not in your best interest to play and then you just stop playing all together, and then it's up to stars to decide whether or not they want your business. this one day of action stuff is useless.

Well, there is that. I suppose he could give up his US citizenship and move off shore. There are plenty of countries that feel no particular obligation to enforce the oppressive laws of foreign jurisdictions.
