Analysis: Not a lawyer but this is a massive precedent for anyone who may be a 'poker pro' in Canada. If even Duhamel, a sponsored pro isn't considered a pro in the eyes of the law, what about the typical winner? With the Radonjic case, the precedent now feels very strong against taxation. I doubt the CRA will be attempting to shake down poker players for pocket change in the near future.
Does it count as legal precedent if the news article is written in french ?

Don't think it was related, tbh... As a side-note : he did pay taxes on his Stars sponsorship, never on his poker winnings.
