I'm extremely isolated and still wearing a mask if I go to the store for supplies. As fit as a fiddle.

Immunity to a strain. We don't know how much immune you are to mutant strains yet.

Have 2 friends that completely lost all taste and smell. Slowly getting it back. Said they had sick flu like symptoms for only 1-2 days and wasn't too terrible. Neither could get a test to know for sure

There is no evidence that people who have recovered from coronavirus have immunity to the disease, the World Health Organisation (WHO) has said.

The UK government has bought 3.5 million serology tests - which measure levels of antibodies in blood plasma.

But senior WHO epidemiologists have warned that there is no proof that such antibody tests can show if someone who has been infected with COVID-19 cannot be infected again.

...

"Right now, we have no evidence that the use of a serological test can show that an individual has immunity or is protected from reinfection."

Dr Maria van Kerkhove added: "These antibody tests will be able to measure that level of seroprevalence - that level of antibodies - but that does not mean that somebody with antibodies means that they are immune."

One of the worst parts about this is that it happened during flu season. It’s tough to know if it’s COVID or the flu, etc. since you are supposed to isolate unless you are practically dying, and then you can go to the hospital.

I NEVER get the flu. I have one of the best immune systems around. I got something wicked that moved from my head to my chest and forced me to take some Doxycycline (last ditch effort before going emergency room) and it helped me at that point. This was after a serious lump in my throat pretty much on day 2. This sore throat lump was WTF large. Then it went to the chest. I had a very long lung rattle in and out. Not had the flu since 15... In bed and scared for 5 days. (residual dry cough for a week later)

This was in very late November. However the Chinese were supposedly keeping this under wraps for awhile AND the US is saying it was here before first "tested" cases. Other stories I am hearing about early and late December.

I don't know...

Live in downtown manhattan , but since i scan news all day , I was semi quarantining by mid February. Spent 3 days in the city from February 15 til present. Did one day on the subway. and played the omaha hi/lo event at harrahs AC on 3/12 , but I knew i was heading straight to quarantine right after that . Been in atlantic city since.. its a gohst town here with all the hotels closed.
With that being said.. I did have really bad stomach problems from 3/14-3/20 ,some fatigue , but no fever. I was thinking that if it hits me, it would really be bad for me, as i have asthma, and semi bad lungs. So i dont think ive got it

More hopeful i had it than think i did. Only time i have been ill in the last few years was January this year for 2 weeks. Who knows if this thing was already spreading outside China then its far from impossible.

If I didn't have it in late January/early Feb I would be very shocked (had confirmed pneumonia, but no-one was really aware of/testing for covid as the casuse back then, just assumed it was flu). Symptoms matched covid far more than regular flu, and it was by a large factor the most ill I (or my girlfriend) have ever felt. Luckily I'm fairly healthy so it was just 3-4 weeks of absolute misery, and nothing worse.

I'm 50/50 thinking I got it on a visit to vegas in Jan. I arrived 01/15, left Monday 01/20. Back in atlanta 01/21 I had a fever about 102 for four days. Definitely thought it was the flu (fever, sweats, loss of appetite, fatigue etc..) and I started feeling a bit better 4 days later except for a fatigue and a violent, lung/heart shaking cough that persisted for another 5 days or so before gradually getting better.
My mistake that I never went to the doc until 02/12 to see what can be done about the lingering cough. She didn't test for flu since it seemed kind of obvious that I had it, but did give me antibiotics to kill the cough (azithromycin). A few weeks later still had cough so I went back for chest X-ray which was good (to eliminate possiblilty of pneumonia or worse). Now I have an inhaler that I'm finishing up and cough is pretty much gone.
So all that does sound like the flu BUT sitting in the Bellagio poker room playing against a table full of chinese guys for a week, who the hell knows? I did get a flu shot back in October although I know that doesn't always prevent you from getting it, but this definitely didn't feel like any flu I've had before.

Something similar happened to me in late december. I never get sick, and suddenly got this virus where I was sick for around 10 days whith dry cough, fever (just for 1 day though. I cant even recall last time I had fever), headeache and muscle pain.

Im pretty sure China is lying. This probably started in October.

True but I never said or implied otherwise. But also we know that with MERS and SARS which are also corona viruses people have achieved at least ten years immunity in at least some cases. Also the evidence so far indicates Covid-19 is stable.

I am not saying one can never catch it again or it won’t change but the current very limited evidence indicates we will naturally find a defense or we will be able to find a way to fight and manage it. Nothing is guaranteed but I have much hope.

Don't be so optimistic man. People get very angry when you talk about hope

I eat boat loads of garlic too. During Covid I've been taking echinacea every night and goldenseal every other night (it can kill too much of the good bacteria in your stomach.)

However, I was sick for about three weeks starting in February. I wasn't privy to how bad covid was at the time though... Mostly likely had it.

A friend of mine is a comedian and he did a show in NYC back when they only had 10 confirmed cases. He got Covid along with his family. They got the anti-body test done and it was confirmed.

Just waiting for my parents anti-body results to come back... I however, don't want to pay $90 for the anti-body test and hate Dr.'s offices, I'm quarantined until further notice.

Has anyone had a blood test for antibodies?

What were your results? When were you tested? Do you think the test was legit or probably one of the faulty tests?

Whether you tested negative or positive for blood antibodies, when do you think you had COVID-19? Was your case of COVID-19 confirmed by a positive nasal swab test? (Or did you get sick right after someone you knew had a confirmed positive test but you were not able to get tested?)

If you tested positive for blood antibodies, did you have a mild or more severe case of COVID-19? What were your symptoms?

I wonder if most people who think they had it in Dec-Jan are testing negative for antibodies now, if the antibodies don't last long, and if how long they last depends on how sick you were. It would be ideal if you test positive to keep getting tested for antibodies every month or two to see how long it lasts, and to donate plasma.
