K i need to know what your thoughts are on this situation. my freind wanted to play online so i told him that il send him 90 bucks to do what he wanted, but i told him he had to use good BR management (10 buyin rule), he then started playing 20, 30, 50, 100 hu sngs, and ran his 90 up to 600, i was mad because he didnt listen to me and played higher then he was suppose to, so i told him to send back my 90 and he can do w/e he wants with his money, so then he was playing 55 dollar hu sngs, and i decided to sit because he was up 1100 dollars.

well he ran like god and played good and at one point i was down 300, and he never said anything about giving me money back, but i never really excepted it back, i just thought we would play a bunch of sngs, so about 14 sngs later i won 2 in a row and he goes ok last one then im done, since he realized he was running worse, but i was still down 200, well i got back up the point where i was only down 85 and then we called it quits. so he won 85.

so then i am playing hu plo tables (.25/.50) and he decides to sit with me, even though he knows i am a good plo player, and over the next 30 minutes he drops 8 buyins to me, and then at the end he freaks out and says he wants the money back now, and that it was just for fun. but before he sat he never said its just for fun lets just give the money back or anything like that, he didnt even say hey i won 85 off you in the hu sngs, so how bout you just give me 100 back from what you jsut took from me and call it even.he wanted all his money back because he got owned basically.

so my question...should i be giving him his money back when he never even offered my money back when we were doing hu sngs, or do i deserve to keep it?

He decided the play PLO on your table, to not give you the $90 back, and to not respect your request to use good BR management with the $ you gave him.

He ran good, then got into a game he shouldn't off. He sucks at BR managment. Let it be a lesson to him. When he goes busto and crawling back for more money, give him $25 and tell him to use good BR managment, and don't play with him online till he gets teh point.

You should probably always give the money back u win in poker. Its the right thing to do.

If he wanted a stipulation that it was for fun and then winner would send the loser back any profits, then he should have made this stipulation clear before the match started. Simple as that.

Also, for future reference if you decide to stake someone else - a 10 buyin rule is not good/safe BR management for any variation of poker I can think of.

And one last note - if he's a good friend and this is going to keep you from sleeping at night or something, send him the money back, minus the original $90 you gave him. Tell him to do whatever he wants with his current profits, besides play at a table you're at. Also make it clear that you will not give him any more money once he loses his roll.

If he has any questions, explain to him that he obviously has no concept of poker etiquette and that it's very likely that the 2 of you playing together or attempting another staking arrangement is going to turn the friendship sour.
