Digital poker isn't poker anymore than video poker is poker. There's only one real way to play poker. Live poker. Only live poker is poker.
Digital table poker isn't poker. It's digital table poker. video poker isn't poker, it's video poker.
Poker is poker. in person. face to face. Human vs Human.

Is virtual football and madden the same as real football? can golden tee replace golf?

If you're playing more than 50 hands an hour , then what you are playing isn't poker, it's just masterbation.

Wat? It is face to face, in person, human vs human. Just has digital chips and cards instead of physical ones.

Starting January in prime time on ESPN. Arguably the biggest names in golf as founders (Tiger & Rory), the biggest names as players and extremely deep pocketed investors.

That looks really cool actually. There is something like this near my house since i don't play there(yet) i just think of it as a "vr golf place" in my head.

"digital chips" seems like a great way for me not to be able to impulsively shuffle chips for ten hours straight. What's next "digital beer?"

You mean how they flash cards. Or maybe that they keep the pot stacked so neatly. Or they don’t understand inappropriate table talk. Or how they don’t understand collusion so they don’t stop it. Or maybe the 20 hands per hour. Or any of a dozen other problems.

Note I don’t blame the dealers. They do not get proper training nor anywhere close to the table time needed to get good.

As to more appealing to have a dealer sitting waiting. We’re that truly what happens. The cruises with live dealers I have been on a dealer does not sit waiting for a game. Late in the evening, if you ask the pit they might announce a game and it might make. It will be 2/5 with a 60 to 500 buy in. Most will buy in for 100 maybe 200. If you are lucky this shallow, short handed high rake game might go till midnight getting 20 hph.

Otoh with digital table, if you can get 3 people you can get a game running anytime the casino is open. In fact with 2 people, you can sit there trading blinds rake free. You will be amazed how fast the table will fill up. Sure it will be a 1-2 game with 50 -200 buy in. But once started it will run till 2AM, getting 50 hands per hr. A bunch will buy in for 50 but will do so 10 or 20 times. You will get 50 hph for a much lower rake.

I have paid for multiple cruises for wife and I playing electronic tables. The games are fast and loose and run day and night. The games are easy but high variance.

On cruises with live dealers, the games are much tighter and most players have at least a clue and some are very good. I have done fine in these games. Probably more $ per hand winrate. But many fewer hours and many fewer hands per hr.

The poker might occasionally be better with live dealer but more fun and far more profitable with electronic tables.

You can play slots on your phone, so why do you keep going to the casino?

Because they suck.

I played on one on a cruise ship once. Guy was facing a bet and the timer was running and he was mashing the screen but it froze up. I'd rather tip the dealer a few bucks a pot and have a human running the game.

I wondered this also.

I also felt that they should use those electronic tables for lower stakes.

Most casino's I've been to also have a minimum NL stake of 1-2.

IMOP that's alot of money for someone just wanted to try the game for the first time.
$200 to buy in probably. He could lose in 1 hand.

I wish they ran some 0.25-0.5 or 0.5-$1 games as well as I think it would grow
the game better. These lower games would probably need to run on a electronic
table to make it worthwhile for the casino.

I played on a digital poker table for the first time at a small Oregon coast casino earlier this year. I was pleasantly surprised by the experience and enjoyed. It was a low buy in Sunday tournament with many retirees. I think the digital format kept the game moving at a reasonable pace and there was still lots of table banter.
