I assume stinger realized that it was a large chunk of OP's roll and I assume stinger does not particularly care about the $800. He decided that it was worth it to him to help someone out a lot instead of keeping some money that made no difference to him.

Saying that the amount of money is irrelevant is dumb. You can't just say its a principle thing without justifying that. What do you even mean? The money certainly is important anyway and makes the two situations totally different. One situation someone lost what they consider a lot of money to someone who considers that to be very little money. The other situtaion someone lost what they considered to be a lot of money to someone that also considered it to be a lot of money. Singer could afford to let someone freeroll him when he was bored for $1,000 I don't beleve Menlo could/can afford to let anyone freeroll him for 50k. If you don't see the difference in those two situations I don't know what to tell you.

OnceUpon, it's a bit like dropping something at the mall, the employers says it's no big deal, just get another one, whilst if you scratch a car the sales man asks for a check..

I think this is the attitude that most people are disagreeing with. The way you phrase your comments make it sound like stinger should be expected to ship the money back because he does not need it as much. This isn't the case. He would have been totally in the right to keep the money. However, it makes him a classy guy to give it back. But to say it like it should have been expected of him is not right imo.

Stinger prolly got more "joy" out of sending it back than he did winning the money. So a pretty selfish move for him IMO.

you should either send the money back, or never flip again. imo.

Brian: If you lose
Me: So, want to flip?
Brian: What table?

So we flip at a 1-2 nl table. By the way, I usually play 1-2 nl HU. So, this money does mean a lot to me. This is what happens (I'm just going to leave the raw hand histories):
Wow...

No.

Not that I'm against forms of philanthropy, but that was a ******ed statement.

Gonna go out on a limb here and say that you're a Democrat.
