lol @ people criticizing this gesture...wtf do you want him to do? What good does it do Hastings to dent the OP's roll? Very cool move.

OP,
If that amount was significant to you, then I hope you've learnt a lesson from this & out of respect for Stinger's gesture, you should not flip at stakes you can't afford ever again.

Brian,
nh.

I remember when Good2cu did a bunch of flips and ended up losing like 60k (about 90%) of his bankroll in one drunken night.

Are you guys saying WestmenloAA should have sent 50k back to Good2cu?

It's the exact same thing. It's a principle thing. X dollars is totally irrelevant. Just a ******ed thing to send OP his money back.

are you suggesting people flip for absurd amounts of money and just send them back to eachother?

PartyGirlUK is suggesting the OP ship the money back to Brian Hastings.

So basically he's suggesting the exact opposite of what you're implying moose.

OP: Just look at this as an opportunity to parlay the $800 into one big flip. If you win you can safely quit flips for a while, but if you lose.....theres only one way back to even.

I think this might fall under the concept of gift, if you really want to rationalize it?

it's gambling. there are to be no gifts in gambling.

Those who say OP should give it back or that stinger never should have given it back in the first place fail at life. For the first that would simply be rude to refuse to accept his generosity and in the second just cause you are a hardcore asshat doesn't mean its wrong for someone else to not be one.

No one has said anything even resembling what you suggest. I don't think anyone had said stinger SHOULD have sent the money back. All that people have said is that it was nice and classy of him to do so. It would not have made him mean or unclassy to not ship the money back though.

I assume stinger realized that it was a large chunk of OP's roll and I assume stinger does not particularly care about the $800. He decided that it was worth it to him to help someone out a lot instead of keeping some money that made no difference to him.

Saying that the amount of money is irrelevant is dumb. You can't just say its a principle thing without justifying that. What do you even mean? The money certainly is important anyway and makes the two situations totally different. One situation someone lost what they consider a lot of money to someone who considers that to be very little money. The other situtaion someone lost what they considered to be a lot of money to someone that also considered it to be a lot of money. Singer could afford to let someone freeroll him when he was bored for $1,000 I don't beleve Menlo could/can afford to let anyone freeroll him for 50k. If you don't see the difference in those two situations I don't know what to tell you.
