But none of those links tell me whether or not the shufflers are only leased to licensed casinos. That was the part that is what meant by "I'll have to go back and look up where I heard it," which it's why it was the introductory clause in the first sentence, not the second.
So stop with the "it took me 20 seconds of research" like you solved one of the Zodiac ciphers or something. Yeeesh.
Deckmate only offers their shufflers new via a lease agreement with casinos. You or I couldn't contact them right now and buy one from them.
Deckmates can be bought via a third party just like the links listed show. However, they are sold as used or refurbished, they are not new. The prices can vary greatly from these 3rd party sellers from what I've seen. I've seen between $5-$11k for a Deckmate1, and closer to $20k for a Deckmate2.
What I haven't looked into is how these 3rd party used/refurbished vendors acquire the shufflers in the first place. I'm not sure if it's the casino's that have the ability to re-sell them (I think that's doubtful), or how and to whom Deckmate offers them to once they've been replaced with new units.
