Not much of a mechanic if that is what is supposedly happening. I know the shuffle machines can be rigged, but I always feel more comfortable (and the game moves faster) with a machine.

I missed it at first, but once you see it you can't unsee it. About 6 seconds into the video, he riffles the 2 halves of the deck, slides them together while turning them... then as he's turning them he actually pulls them back out of the riffle. Amazing. Impossible to do by mistake IMO.

Wow, will check how my dealer does it next time.

The cheat starts right from the start (actually before the video started). Look at the first 2 seconds of video. He takes x number of bottom cards as his "slug of cards" and positions them right below the top card. Why I said the cheat started before the video started is because when the previous hand ended the dealer decided which cards he wanted to pick up last so that they would be on the bottom of the deck and then...video starts...and you see in the first 2 seconds of video he puts that slug of bottom cards right under the top card before doing the false shuffle.

Watch the first 2 seconds over and over again until you see it. Literally stop the video at the 2 second mark and see it freeze framed.

Looks like a fake cut also, dealers are required to use only one hand to cut the deck, he uses 2 hands and does something shady.

You are correct, you are no expert if you think there is nothing going on here. And there is absolutely no cheating in online poker either .

They’re probably just shaky from being yelled at by Farha all the time

i honestly don't see the irregularity or sleight-of-hand with this shuffle, but i also would not know any better. can someone show screen shots or make a video demonstrating where this was a problem? it almost seems like the guy who posted this video, actually clicked on the wrong one to upload and there's a more incriminating one out there.

I commented on this video on twitter so I won't repeat them here. Others have already said what I said.

But what I'm curious about is does anyone know what has happened to this dealer since this video went up?

The final cut is a false cut. He strips the bottom half of the deck (essentially undoing his shuffle), places that on the cut card, and then places the same top half back on top.

Just do a search for @MasonMalmuth and you'll see it. It won't add anything to what has already been discussed here.

Just quickly. The video starts with the dealer adding a specific portion of the deck into a specific place. This is shady af. You're not supposed to be sorting the deck like that ever as a dealer. After the hand, wash/scramble the cards facedown on the table, then bring them together (with no deference to the order) and begin shuffling. You can't rummage them in your hand the way he does. The order of operations for a dealer is specifically designed to avoid any accusations of impropriety.

The second (and main thing) he does is fake a shuffle. It isn't even remotely slick, and it's surprising that he ever got away with this in the first place. He takes the two halves of the deck, shuffles them so they're about to be in a random order, then he rotates each side of the deck a full 360 degrees and just removes them. Instead of pushing the halves together, he just turns the deck halves in an ornate fashion and then pulls them apart again.

There are card mechanics out there that are legit, but this guy was bound to get caught quickly. These are the type of card tricks you'd use to amuse your nephew or something at Thanksgiving.

If it's true that multiple dealers have been caught it's possible that this guy was just learning. He might have just been practicing on the clock.

As a dealer I'm a little upset that none of the crew is being outed and that they apparently haven't caught any players. They had to have been feeding someone and getting a cut.

This video just went public when Deeb posted it. It is actually from March. The dealers name was Dwayne and he was fired at that time. Hasn't been seen since in any of the Houston card rooms.

Couldn’t think of a sketchier room than legends so doesn’t surprise me at all. This video has been circulating for a while and there have been worse rumors about the place.

To those asking who profited management put a lot of people of people in the games and a lot of dealers played so doubt it wasn’t someone in those groups

What do you do once you've invented literally the most conspicuous method imaginable to do a fake riffle?

Right, you use it to deal AA vs. KK vs. KK vs. QQ with a flop Qxx turn A runout.

How is it even possible these goofballs were in business for at least a year? Don't mess with Texas oookay.
