Still amazed?
Yes I am still amazed because you can lock your USB ports many different ways via either software or hardware.

If the HS players feel like they don't need to lock USB ports bc they're "just going for a cigarette" or any other short time task, well, that's plain naive.

hmm I think you need admin privilege to install any program?
You can just use standard accounts.

lol

That is incredibly easy to get around. You can easily do it in the time it takes your friend to take a dump.

It is close to impossible to guard yourself against this when it's one of your closest friends that you have full trust in that suddenly decides to scam you. When you're hanging out with your friends you can't avoid at some point leaving one of them alone with your computer for a couple of minutes.

if you put a bios password and hd password there is almost no to accomplish this. Just make sure you hibernate or shut off your laptop when not using, sleep I think is still easy to bypass. The windows pw is pretty easy to circumnavigate.

The right way to do it would be to have an IT professional set up a locked down laptop for you running Linux, and then run Windows in a VM inside of it, stripped to nothing but a your poker client. No web browsers, no email, no Skype, nadda.

Have them install AIDE to detect file system changes, and set up ipfw to lock down & monitor the network ports, with tripwires to alert them to unusual activity. Disable the external ports by gluing them shut.

And use that laptop only for playing poker, and keep it in your possession. Use another computer for surfing the web, and doing your normal Internet things. If you're playing high stakes, the few grand it'll cost you to do it right is nothing.

Good suggestions. How do you secure the USB ports that you use for mouse and keyboard?

bios pw, disable usb ports in the in the bios (also disable expresscard slot in a laptop, also disable intel amt oob imei remote management), you can use a bluetooth mouse/keyboard instead. . But definitely disable usb ports in the bios. Yes running virtual machine is helpful also and maybe a different vlan, yes no surfing the web, google, email, can also setup some local policies too on your poker only machine. Run wireshark and see that is going in/out.

I was assuming a laptop (where that wouldn't be necessary). In the case of a desktop computer, if it has internal bluetooth you could use a bluetooth keyboard/mouse, or you could glue them into place as well.

If you don't like that idea, something like this could work as well:

http://www.kensington.com/us/us/4483...d#.VI3vC8Y-DAw

It won't *prevent* someone from accessing them, but it'll certainly slow them down.

Make sure you also secure any USB ports that are on your keyboard, too.

1) It's zupp himself, but that's rather unlikely since zupp has been completely silent on our danish poker forums since about May, and also it would be really ******ed to post under a nick so close to "zzup".
2) He's just ignorant

In either case, nothing supports Zzoop's posts, and he should really, as previously said, stop posting.

There hasn't even been a single post about it possibly not being Jepsen on the danish forum, and I assure you some of the victims are danish and are reading that thread. If it indeed was not Jepsen they suspect and have filed criminal charges against, they would definately have said so in there.

Futhermore, at least one of the eight whom have filed the charges, are a (former?) close buddy of his, I assure you they would have said so if it wasn't indeed Jepsen.

I have wondered before about Russ Hamiltons WSOP win as well and if everything was above board with that. Does kind of cast doubt on the legitimacy of other poker wins they had.

Anything can happen in one tourney! We have seen huge donks bink big ones before so there's nothing to say that these scammers couldn't win a tourney legitimately.
