He's gotten undeniably better, still does some goofy ass stuff though. But if you see how some of the live regs like matusow play it's hard to imagine him not being a winner even in live cash with his current game, it's a pretty visible step from the biggest loser on hsp days

That's fine and to be honest if I had millions I couldn't care less about how good I was. However, fanboys can't claim he is "one of the best NLH players in the world" or something ridiculous like that. He's a solid player in many of the games and I am sure he has an edge on most WSOP fields but let's keep it at that.

Ability to beat mid stakes online cash games is NOT how we measure success in poker.

A few random thoughts ...
1) Why do most of the 'pros' avoid the WPT tour these days, including DNegs? He really only plays the bounty at LAPC.
2) I like that a few in this thread realize that lifetime 'earnings' is subject to other factors like backing and buy-ins.
3) Cashes v Crushers is an interesting conversation.
3A) So Magic Antonio is a tournament crusher? With 2 WPTs (from yester-year) and a One Drop?

4) DNegs readily acknowledges that you must play differently cash v tournament and live v online. Very few players can do all in elite fashion simultaneously. But DNegs can hold his own in each area IMO. Let's get JBonomo on PAD and see how that goes ...
5) The conversation about small field/high skill v large field/varying skill is an interesting one.
6) Lots of folks (including me) don't fact check when they post.
7) It's nice to see Eli Elezra doing well in some tournaments ... rumors were that he owed a lot of people and was selling stuff to get even. Wonder if he's being staked or building back up his bankroll? GL

This never ending debate about whether DN could beat a table of NL200 "crushers" reminds me of that old thread about whether Doyle Brunson could beat NL1000.

It begged answer to the same question: In what circumstances would Brunson be playing a game where the buy-in equaled the big bet in his regular game? In what circumstance would DN be playing NL200 at all? The answer is that they wouldn't bother.

They beat those stakes long ago, in the early days of their rise to the top of the Poker world. To even talk about it now is just low-stakes wanna-be's exercising their egos.

Who said he's unsuccessful? I don't think anyone would deny that Negreanu is extremely successful. Sounds like they were talking about how good he actually is fundamentally.

I could beat my Granddaughter at Old Maid or Go Fish if I learned the rules and practiced for a little while. The difference here is that if my little angel thought about it, she would know that was true (and why,) being that she is old enough and smart enough to handle critical thinking.

Honestly 200nl isnt that hard and I don't see why DNegs wouldn't be able to beat that stake if he tried.

My intention for each of Daniel's vlogs is to skip over the Choice Center intention psychobabble and fast-forward to the part where he lights $10k on fire by busting out of each tournament early.
