That board, against that player running like a god, with that stack, in that moment, so close to something that big, just seemed to be an easy fold and either get in better spot with remaining 15BBs, or if no situations developed perhaps squeak into FT, enjoy the next three months as a Nov 9'er.

ps. great interview with Kara afterwards... kept it positive ... handled it a little bit better than Mr. Schwartz
just watched the hand one last time cuz I cant seem to get it out of my head. I guess since Joe was basically opening ATC, he just "couldn't have it all the time", but WOW still don't see the upside of taking that shot, on that drippy wet board, against that player, running like a god, at that moment, with Nov 9 seat in balance.

I'd be stupid to question your poker strat decision making and that's not my intent (your results speak for themselves). I just love all aspects of the game and that was certainly a pretty big moment for you and kinda for the game too (given your status as arguably top ambassador... sry phil, that white magic can only take you so far ) , and wanted to know what was going thru your head at the time.

Yes, you will open yourself up to all the NVGTards that will pontificate how they would have done this or that and they are much smarter.. and you are dumb.. top of range, bottom range.... blah blah blah

nvgtards aside, many of us non NVGTards, would appreciate to know what was in your head at the time, cuz that's the only viewpoint that I and probably many others care to hear.

It's pretty obvious DN got it in because he crushes Joe's range. Joe's range was opening any 2 cards on the button. DN flopped top pair with an ace. It's a completely standard ship and if he starts thinking about the final table being on the line and fold then he would not be playing optimally.

The only thing that DN could have done differently was ship it preflop. He had just shipped in K10 against Joe in the same position. But, this time chose to flat maybe being slightly deeper stacked? Or maybe he was little timid to shove this time because he had just done it the round before. Not sure DN's reasoning but I would be glad to hear it.

I hear you. we can all talk about the logic of that particular hand in a vacuum and each have our own views.

What I was trying to ask about were the more emotional thoughts going thru his head.

He's Daniel Negreanu. Arguably the most recognizable name and top ambassador for the game, He's a few seats off the Nov 9. This would be a huge moment for anyone. Much bigger for him on many levels.

A $1,000,000 bet at 100:1 where the "1" is your head is immediately decapitated from your body, is a pretty scary bet.

View: Dnegs should be the face of Unibet Poker

Unibet currently are the only company making an effective push to make online poker a fun, competitive and long-lasting game.

They have a no HUDs rule, table limit, low rake and excellent rewards for beginners, effective deterants for playing too many tables, while still offering big rewards to the biggest rakers to incentivise action and grinding.

They also offer an array of fun avatars, daily name changes, freerolls for losing players, fun challenges, and the rep's communication with the 2+2 community is the best.

Their business direction seems to be to grow a long term player base and the popularity of their product (I know, unbelievable in this industry right ).

Unibet are clearly the future of online poker, and Dnegs is one player that really encapsulates the notion of 'creating a fun playing atmosphere'.
He has been a great promoter for pokerstars through it's golden years but its clear Unibet's visions for online poker are more inline with the views he has expressed on his blogs over the years.

He seems to take a bit of stick on here for various reasons, but no-one can deny that he puts alot of thought and effort into bettering the game of poker as a whole, that his heart is in the right place as an ambassador of the game, and that it's still damn fun to watch him play poker and read/watch his blogs.

I think this would be a great move for him, Unibet and online poker.

Never going to happen.

Dnegs is pokerstars (and I'm sure they have looked after him VERY WELL over the years)

Also not so sure about:

^^^
Unlikely as the money from PStars is just too good and likely includes options on Amaya stock.

/Unibet is great, though.

Daniel Donates 10k to SPCA

According to the LVRJ dated Nov 15 2015, Daniel Negreanu dontated 10k to the Nevada SPCA. Im sure nobody was happier more than SPCA CEO Matthew Bershadker and his $310,219 annual salary.
Gotta love the "Charities" and their CEO pay,,and dont even get me stared on Susan G Korman.

He donated 10K to the Nevada Spca. It is totally different organization from the ASPCA. All the money from this tournament goes to the animals.

Have you ever seen an animal with a lot of money? I assure you they won't use it any more wisely.

Drake night - so nice to have tickets!

PS. Didn't read through the AMA - did he say anything else about the PS VIP changes?

Re: Daniel Negraenu answering questions via reddit AMA

Apparantly this was to promote a KidPoker documentary that will air December 1st

AMA is very boring, cliffs:

On VIP club changes:
Quote:
I would have made changes to the program years ago, but if I were in charge I would have made sure I gave ample notice that the changes were coming. They are essential, but I wish they would wait until Jan 1, 2017 to implement them and I wouldn't target high limit players by removing their VPPs
Nothing else interesting outside of this:

Q:
Quote:
Here is my question: Let's say you would commit all your time, energy and money to making as much money playing poker, what/where would you play and how much do you think could you average a year?
A:
Quote:
I would play in Macau and think I could average $7 million a year.

Pretty boring AMA overall from what it looks like. I just briefly skimmed through it but nothing really stuck out as attention grabbing or that interesting at all unfortunately.

I thought this was interesting:

Question: How much has poker suffered from Black Friday? And is it obvious to everyone how it was an orchestrated move for the U.S. base casinos to control the online poker market?

DNegs: I don't think it was. I think the NFL is to blame but that's a lounge story.
