The problem is Daniel's favourite films are the Rocky series, he doesn't know they are just films, he wants to take on all challengers, no matter how much he is dominated, and he thinks he is bloody Rocky...

Doug never claimed he was a better fighter than Nandez or as far as I know built any of his reputation or self worth on his street fighting skills so what does he have to gain by this?

The video was pretty good. Only day 1 and back from an injury lay off followed by a month at the poker tables so he's gonna be rusty with getting the full, smooth range of movement done properly on weights machines and free weights.

Was surprised he weighs 175lbs, because he is not at all fat and I was under the impression that his height is ~5'7. So he's a pretty solid chunk (not in a bad way) for his height, or maybe he's one of these people who on screen looks 5'7 but is 5'9 1/2.

He probably could hold his own against some of these people who are bigger/taller than him that he is fake challenging, or for real feuding with, as 175 or 160 when in tip top shape is not a small person, it's close to mid range.

After reading all the DN bashing in this thread, I began watching his vlogs towards the end of the WSOP and actually enjoyed them quite a bit. Seems like he is pretty honest about his play, successes, and struggles.

I never really enjoyed his goofy table persona and he's not one of my favorite players. I've always preferred the quiet mystique of people like Ivey and Dwan over the attention whore camera addicts, but all in all DN seems like he is "good for the game", even if there are some valid criticisms about PokerStars and his attention-seeking personality.

The way I see it, he's kind of a prisoner of his own success. His status as one of the biggest names in the game means he has to continue cultivating attention to maintain his stature, which in turn means making vlogs, chatting up fans, posing for pictures, playing high rollers, and exposing his life to constant criticism. While I think any poker player would love to have a free ride from PokerStars, the work necessary to maintain that status isn't something that I envy.

Some of the criticism of DN seems valid, but a lot of it seems petty and unfair. Having achieved modest success in other realms of life, I can confirm that crab mentality is a real phenomenon and that anyone who achieves notoriety within a given field will attract a certain number of haters regardless of whether it's warranted or not.

With DN, a lot of the criticism seems excessive and petty. I suspect that very few poker players would come off smelling like roses if they filmed themselves every day and aired their dirty laundry in public. How many people on 2p2 have had relationship problems? How many have gotten angry over a bad beat or downswing? How many are chiseled Greek gods in perfect physical shape? I saw plenty of fatties at the WSOP and there are plenty of pros in far worse shape than DN.

Yet so many people in this thread are just tripping over themselves to take shots at this guy, even though his behavior in ~15 years of poker A-list status has been mostly devoid of major scandals and shadiness. If not for the fact that at least one of the 2+2 founders seems to harbor a deep grudge against him, I wonder if this thread (which essentially amounts to the "let's all bash DN" party) would be allowed to continue, as it's little more than an endless stream of dubious personal attacks against the man.

To me, DN seems like a vain and insecure guy who thrives on attention, yet beyond that I really don't find him to be a particularly bad or sinister person, especially in the context of poker, which harbors its fair share of genuine scumbags and crooks. DN, if you happen to read this, keep doing you. You may not be a saint, but you don't deserve all this vitriol either.

The man spent his entire career railing against scumbags who sold out others for their own personal gain and to the detriment of the industry, but when the time finally came to risk something of value himself (reported $3M/year Pokerstars contract), he sold out tons of career players to the tune of millions of dollars (SNE fiasco), making Negreanu not only one of the scumbags but a hypocrite as well. He deserves every ounce of vitriol he receives.

I'm liking Daniel's new vlog, post WSOP.

His trainer needs to teach him techniques that would prevent him from tearing a muscle, ligaments, and perhaps dislocating a joint. It's scary to watch how his body (especially the legs) are very unsteady during the routine. He also just lets go on the last rep.

I suggest slow but not super slow. By this I mean that on the lifting/positive he needs to count "1 thousand...2 thousand......3 thousand....4 thousand on the positive....HOLD (Don't lock your joints!!!) for 1....2....then lower/negative the weight also at 1 thousand...2 thousand....3 thousand ...4 thousand...

By using the above count, he ensures proper form. He also ensures "weight lifting" rather than "weight throwing" - the latter wrongly using momentum to finish sets - extremely dangerous. It's stupid to get injured because of poor form.

Based on the obviousness that Danny is following the principle of going to failure in all of his sets, he's bound to gain a good amount of weight by WSOP 2019.

I predict close to 200 lbs. by May 2019 IF IF IF IF IF he avoids injury. His technique is really bad.

In terms of eating, he's eating a good amount of protein. Good.
