LOL at Negreanu thinking his gf can't be a gold digger because she doesn't ask for stuff. He obviously doesn't understand the long game.

Am shocked that they decided to use that footage of Tanya punting it in with 86o. To put her poor decision out there for everyone to troll over is very poor choice.

+1 to how he is sometimes extremely strange over his GF. When he read out a text from her and some of the questions that he asks her comes across as creepy.

No of course not, but it raises the debate of what is more difficult or should get more points, the guy who wins a 5,000-10,000 player field in a "gimmicky" $1,500 buyin (pretty much DNegs words), or the guy who wins a ~100 player field in a $10,000 buyin?

Worse, she called it off with 8-6.

Add up the size of the field you beat and that is how many POY points you get for winning that tourney. Add up all your points. Done.*

*Yes, I know that system favors the Main Even winner along with guys that finish high up in big field/lower stake tournies. So.

Sell the accessibility of the dream and more people will want to chase it. DNEGS crying about it is just an added bonus.

This isn't the problem with the POY point system. None of the contenders have won any of the huge field gimmick events anyway, and I think they all have a mix of results in NLHE and mixed-game events.

The main problem is that POY awards too many point for mincashing in all events relative to winning (or deep final-tabling) all events. This is exacerbated by how easy the WSOP has made it to mincash many events by expanding both the payouts and the late reg period. A player can basically become a POY contented by playing a degenerate strategy of max late regging every event, immediately doubling up or busting, and then folding into the money.

That just makes the POTY basically meaningless as an accomplishment. The randos taking a shot in the main event or Colossus don't care about Player of the Year, come on.

It's a fair question, but I don't think it's really at the heart of Daniels argument. He's making the case that min-cashes count for too much and that the POTY should accentuate wins and final tables.

I agree with that. Min-ish cashes should barely count. And frankly I think POY should be among all the bracelet winners. Every POY has won at least one bracelet and most times multiple bracelets.

Just saw that ol DN IS playing the Little One Drop tourney. I thought he wasn't playing smaller tourneys? Is he trying to buy that POY?

Obviously the POY points system is out of whack but I don't think DN should be in consideration for it anyways when he won 0 bracelets and another player won 2.

He played plenty of smaller buy-ins.

Interviewed on PokerGo last night he said he would be drinking and was planning on re-entering frequently.

Daniel is not gay. You can be sure of that. People that have suggested that are stupid. But what is true is that Daniel has a very juvenile way of dealing with women which is why his sex life is so torrid. He treats women like a 12 year old who doesn't know how to handle his first crush on an icky girl, so he throws rocks at her or teases her too much. That's why Daniel's sex life comes off as weird to the genera public, very immature in it all.

Is it correct that he is in the last 100 players of one drop?

I don't know I just look at the WSOP chipcounts. Seems like there are 100 left but the chipcounts say there are 200+ players so I don't know what the deal is.

Notables who did make it through to Day 3 include Matt Affleck (347,000), Dan Heimiller (629,000), Chris Ferguson (163,000), Upeshka De Silva (127,000) and Roman Korenev (558,000).
Pretty sure they would include him but since they didn't my guess he is busted?

Daniel paid David Dengamine buy ins at wsop for fantasy. It did not work out so well for him but, players saying it is cheating. Don't think it's actually cheating just morally against gambling code.

That would make sense. In the VLOGs DNegs seems very frustrated by Benyamine; think it was the 25k PLO where he busted extremely early, Daniel def lost some composure.

With his side bets and buying in punters to tournies looks like an expensive summer for Daniel.

That doesn't really equate. Long game? You are applying stereotypes blindly. She's a hot blonde therefore she must be a gold digger. In every relationship, each partner is expecting something in return. What we deem as good relationship, are ones that build on long lasting love, companionship and support.

As a poker player, my read on Marissa is that she's one of the innocent type who happens to be very good looking. She found someone who is famous, fun and can take care of her. Dan with the working out and hair replacement seems to have gone through the midlife thing. Some guys get a hot car, he got a hot gf. Now beyond that, I do hope both of them have found some true love. They seem like a good couple.
