You can't be way +ROI in $50K+ buyin tournaments and be a big fish in them. Maybe possibly you are only average, but a donk couldn't repeatedly beat top competition by accident.

DN has probably put some of this about ranges and blockers into his game, but he doesn't approach it the way the young German players do. He came up playing various games, mostly fixed limit. In his Masterclass he gives an example of where he called down 3 barrels without a pair based on picking up a reverse tell indicating his opponent was bluffing. Everyone has a different approach, and it isn't a good idea to assume someone is terrible because he plays differently from you.

Dnegs is like 24 out of 45 left in the HORSE.
Dnegs will need first to take the lead in POY. Deebs only need to be in top 3 to take the lead.

It's amazing how a fish can be lucky for 25 years, get a multimillion dollar endorsement deal, and a thread of his own in NVG. All of this through luck and winning with a small sample size.

Couldn’t say about the mixed games, don’t play or watch them.
I think he’s +EV in the main and some smaller tourneys. Kind of hard not to be.
But it’s rediculous to think he is not a spot at 50ks. The line-ups are stacked.
Some of them being turbos helps his odds, but nobody who puts as little time to studying as he does would be winning long term.

Looks like DNegs min-cashed in the HORSE and is done for the series.

I'm going to miss the vlogs. I hope he makes the trip and keeps pushing for POY, and records vlogs of it. Especially since he appears to be trying to get Amanda to stay home with the dogs.

Wasn’t Nitche considered a spot in high rollers? He fires multiple bullets in every single 25k+ ever held, far more than Dnegs with worse results. I’d be suprised if he was up lifetime.

He might be, who knows. It’s a lot closer than his EV in high roller plo mtts, where he is one of the worst players in the field.

My point was, of all HR regs, Nitche should be the last one calling people fish.

Something Nitche and the rest of the high roller crew probably underestimates is the value for Negreanu in having his own style. Being contrarian in any MTT field has obvious positive benefits. There's so much group think going on in these high roller tournaments where they have all adopted the same approach.

And I think Daniel can hang somewhat on a technical level which allows him to make deep runs more than you'd think. I don't think it's just variance.

And Germans thinking their theory approach is superior to everything else and everyone else is doing it wrong is their culture. In academia in general they value theory and have a lot of superiority about it. Domenik Nietsche played horribly to one time I was at a table with him in a $1500 WSOP event. He had a short stack and we had just hit the money. There was like a 5K big blind; UTG raised to 10K, and he shoved the CO for about 20K with Q7s. When UTG obviously called and showed AA, he claimed he hadn't noticed the original raise.

A recreational player who claims someone is negative EV in a particular game when somebody's profitable but the sample size is too small and their judgement is based on seeing 0.001% of that person's hands played, but ignores the tournament and hand sample sizes being too small when that somebody's down, has a poor understanding of the statistics of poker and also of their own judgement.
