It's absolutely possible, and in fact somewhat probable, that you can win POTY and be stuck for the series at the same time. If you bink a couple of the smaller field smaller buyin non-holdem events, but punt away in the high rollers, you can win POTY while losing your ass.

Danny seems to be very upset by the reaction of the general public to his comments re: pokergo vs. GOAT. I think usually he'd realize getting upset about the internet comments of idiots trolls aren't worth his time, but as he has said many times, he is not taking care of himself during the Wsop thinking his ev is so good he'll get rich during the series and make up for it later.

Dude is getting older. And it's showing. He's playing bad, thinks jj is the nuts, and wonders how he can get beat with it (this is like wondering why the internet disagrees with him, and how he can fix that).

The days of DNegs playing every day for two months are over. He has to realize this. Age catches up with you, and when you don't take care of yourself, the effect is of that shows itself (anger, bad play, poor judgement, sense of entropy).

I'm not a fan of him by any means but to say "poker has passed him by" seems pretty harsh. High stakes NL/PLO have definitely passed him by, but it's entirely reasonable to think he still has edge in smaller events of those games. And maybe in mixed stuff he is good...we just don't really have the information to know that.

I have no respect for Dnegs' NLHE game vs good players, it really has passed him by bigtime and it's all I can judge, but his longevity, ability to grind and live exploits are still all there...and I'd assume these are on par if not more important in these soft large field tourneys than actual fundamental understanding of nlhe... and are definitely to be respected.

they bet vs each other's teams in the fantasy, have props vs other players, number of cashes etc. I guess he doesn't want to release those because of tax reasons is my guess.

True but I also wonder how much action he has of a guy like Mat gonzales for the sake of his fantasy team and the points. Ya he had 50% of himself but prob bought a lot of the action from a guy like that who was one of first players to bust the 100k. Overall investment may be higher then 100k for a tournament like that despite selling 50% is my point.

No doubt his style of play is incentived by his props and desire to win POY.

Everytime I watch Dnegs Vlogs it reminds me of the tom cruise South Park in the closet episode.

Today he reminded me of an angry short old man . It is fun watching this guy disintegrate . Even though it's sad . I can't help myself from watching.

Negreanu cashing in this $100,000 is so funny, as in this pantomime black and white world of his he was the laughable foolish rebuy villain, hopelessly down on the series, out of his depth, desperately rebuying in this $100,000 tournament, getting deeper into losses, and then blow me down but the silly bugger actually cashes and finally, in a high stakes tournament right at the end, turns the whole series round!

I guess the moral to this story is it ain't over until the fat Romanian woman sings.

Now excuse me, but I am now off to watch the entire bloody Rocky series of films, in the hope it will transfer me Negreanu's awesome poker skills (folks, now is the time to jump on the Negreanu is a poker God wagon, and then jump off this time next year when he has yet another unprofitable WSOP series).

But credit to him for his persistence and self belief, there is a thin line between self belief and delusion, and most results so far suggested the game had overtaken him, but he lives to fight another day, and has moved from pretender to contender.

My one regret about this cash is that it was so fun to watch him get angry!
