Get your heads out of your butthurt asses, the average casual doesn't give a crap about him blindly defending the price increases of his employer, feuds with people like Mason or if us online pros can make a living.

And understand that him opening his personal life up with all the ups and downs makes him even more relatable everyman for your average casual.

The problem is that there are no personalities anymore to take his place. Part it has to do with the decreasing exposure of poker on TV over the last decade, the other part has to do with the robotic stare down, no speaking, 3 minute tanks. GTO exploit everything give nothing that poker has become. Boring to watch because the players are boring.

The once large pond of freewheeling degenerates helped bolster dn's image.

There's a boatload of things to roast DN about, and deservedly so, but one of them isn't how he exits tournaments after busting. He generally is classy and nice even when taking a horrific beat.

Contrast with Hellmuth who will unleash a tirade of expletives and ad hominem attacks every time he busts lol! I give credit to DN for at least making classy exits from tournaments, like 90% of time anyway (I'm sure there's a youtube video showing the opposite though!).

The strange thing is that Helmuth is a nice person when the camera's are off unlike Daniel who is not liked so i keep hearing

I took his 'Ewwww' to be about the fact that Danny seems to believe he has some kind of psychic ability. In that clip he looks genuinely confused that he didn't flop two pair.

Phil behaves terribly at the WSOP, even during non-televised events, and even when dealing with amateurs.

I've seen it multiple times in person over the past few years.

Daniel says and does a lot of stupid things, especially on his Twitter.

There's no question about that.

However, a lot of you out here are too hard on him. As far as well known poker players go, he's one of the better ones, and he's very rec-friendly.

I agree that some of his Stars shilling/apologism has been reprehensible, and apparently they've brainwashed him to hate grinders, which is especially off-putting.

I understand why a lot of you don't like him, but this is a case where I feel the amount of justified hate has been amplified far beyond where it should be.

With that said, his conspiracy theory about the GPI Awards was absurd, and even if he truly "heard something", he should have kept his mouth shut, because it really looked like sour grapes.
