He made the same assumption on Twitter so clearly he has no idea how things even work at high stakes cash. In a normal setting he would literally NEVER get a seat with a fish. The best he could hope for is that some bad bum hunters sit thinking he's a mark.

Some ******ation on both sides. Obviously a -ev bet for DN but for people to act like all 1k+ 6max players are GTO is false. Even the best HU Limit bots are a few BB/100 off of GTO play. NLHE HU is more complicated again and nobody plays that remotely perfect. Now 6max NLHE has a much larger game tree than HU so obviously that is not played GTO either. People understand blockers and balance etc. better these days but I wouldn't go so far as to say all winning players have a strong understanding of game theory optimal play. I've seen winning high stakes players as recently as a couple of months ago not even know that when potting river 2/3rds value 1/3rds bluffs is the ratio for making the caller indifferent. This is the most basic balance concept you first learn. So show me someone who maintains perfect balance through all 4 betting rounds in most spots other than Doug Polk. After that show me how to even prove your strategy is GTO.

People play more balanced these days and work towards solving different spots but I would say just that. Most HS regs play relatively balanced games but not perfect ones.

I agree with you but I'm saying there are a lot of factors to think about in this bet. Mason made a good point and said that a lot of wealthy businessmen would join some of the tables Daniel was on just to play with him. So this bet isn't asking if DN can beat the current high stakes games running. But rather, can he beat softer games because he will be at the tables. I am sure people are more likely to spew against him so if he just plays tight he can print money and win the bet. There would probably all kinds of stipulations bettors would want to make against him. So I doubt this will ever happen.

I'm interested in this bet. I don't think it's hard to set up. Why not let him play 50k hands in a certain timeframe and see how it goes. That way you can avoid a too intensive tableselection. The pool on 5k is small, DN is an honest man. Chances that he will be trying to pull something shady are = 0.
