daniel seems like a pretty legit guy and a good ambassador for poker overall, OP probably caught him at a weird/bad time, everyone has their moments bud

as far as being cocky yea I use to get that impression too but over the last couple years I had gotten more of an impression that he had aknowleged how weak his NL and cash game in general was in comparison so the nosebleed players, and actually made a bunch of strides in improving it and becoming a much better deep cash player

i don't really follow his everyday scores, but isn't he like 8-2 or smth. in the Isildur Challenge? I thought he was successful, but i guess he is not according to you.

That said it's not because someone is a celeb he is not allowed to have a bad day. I'm pretty sure every poker player is rude to people from time to time while he wouldn't be normally, I know I do that.

Reading the OP it looks like he wasn't even that bad, and it is worded in a way that it looks way worse than what the actual facts are. If it was a 9h table I would put the O/U of players who enjoyed his company at 6.

This is just complete bull****. I personally recruited Daniel into the position, structured his deal with his agent, and worked with Daniel on his responsibilities.
He completed his end of the deal, and both sides decided nit to take it further.

Kinda feel bad for Daniel in this spot, because I've seen him shift his focus away from the poker table in order to interact with fans on dozens of occasions over the years. Deep on day 2 of a WSOP event this year, I was sitting next to Daniel as he politely engaged a guy who was being borderline passive-aggressive and totally annoying.

So the OP caught him at a bad moment and for whatever reason induced an unpleasant, and very anomalous, interaction from Daniel. And here we are 150+ posts discussing...what, exactly?

I emailed him in 2005 when he just had Full Contact poker. Think it was just blog then. I asked about poker and he was real short and basically stuck up. I also emailed Howard Lederer and John Juanda and they came paragraph long response to my poker questions and were really cool.
