Holy ****.

Not only are these high roller tournies horrible TV and the most boring poker ever televised.

Now we finally get some drama on one of them. Even the drama is horribly boring and a letdown.

I'd support koon if he was just bullying Smith a bit, but instead Koon seemed genuinely upset and started white knighting for the VIPs and talking about how Smith should know better and etc. etc. Cringeworthy to me.

Nah he concisely made a point. It was cringe for Smith because Koon was 100% correct. Zero reason to need a moment preflop with 20 bigs.

And not exactly “white knighting” for VIPs, he probably was annoyed with it on a personal level

Don't know much about these guys, but my take is Koon came off looking bad, looked he was making too big of a deal about it. But it sure seemed like this was built up frustration from years of dealing with this type of bullshit from Smith, which is impossible to convey to the viewing audience. Explaining that it's always happening just isn't going to do it justice.

Analogy would be with in a relationship, when one side goes off on their spouse for something that seems petty, but in reality there could be a huge history and backstory that would cause the "overreaction"

This is worse than when Vogelsang took like 6 minutes pre HU.
Explain the scam comment or gtfo

Did Jkoon every have the boxing match with derek8?

Seems like yesterday these two had a months long grudge, but that was almost 15 years ago now?

Asking people to be quiet every time you need to think about a decision will definitely get annoying, esp to someone like Koon who enjoys making conversation. I have seen Dan do this on PokerGo streams several times.

This summer I’m refusing to act preflop until my table is completely silent.

He did talk about what VIPs had said to him about playing with Dan, he also said something along the lines of "the people watching will be glad I said something". He very well may been personally annoyed, but he justified his outburst like he was standing up for others also.

At 15bb its still a weird ICM spot but I dont see how 99 isnt a jam. Though some players like to think about their whole range before making a decision with their specific hand. Koon does that too, I saw him take 5-10s to think about his rejamming range vs a jam before looking at his hand, then he snapped jammed after looking.

Ill also take this time to clarify that I was wrong earlier about this being invite only. This is the Main Event of the series, but there was an invite only $200k earlier in the series.

He didn't limp/fold and there's a 2BB stack at the table. What did icmizer say when you put the numbers in?

Bonologic has spoken. Maybe Bonomo and Smith can hang out together when they don't get the Triton invites next time.

Bonomo lol.
What a shock he takes the side of being miserable to play with.
Imagine the tears coming from Bonomo right now if Smith happened to be black or a woman.

He loves big timing and playing the "these are huge decisions" card when they aren't relative to the stakes they're playing.

This wasn't some dude who satellited the main event for 500 bucks and all of the sudden is 1 of 18 players left.

The High Rollers have become a bunch of guys playing slight variations of the same strategy grinding out super small edges (largely playing other people's money and even having swaps with people at the same table) and a big part of that is why the hell would any rich dude for who the 200k or whatever means less than nothing even want to play?

The whole thing is comical.
They'll play some 200k with 60 people and maybe 2 recs when they all have like 10 percent of themsleves or less and stroke themsleves for having such big decisions to make.

"It's a 100k decision guys"

Nah it's more like a 10k decision in your wallet and probably a 2k decision for 3 other guys at the table who have swaps with you.

The guy built his bankroll cheating at poker during the glory days of online poker. He cheated tons of people, mostly rec players out of money back then so it's not surprising he doesn't care what they think about poker. Then he acts like he's some moral authority on poker.

Even if it is somewhat of a weird awkward spot to everyone I say “so what?”

Pro athletes are supposed to perform when being yelled out but this delicate genius needs silence?

No one wants to play with people that make the game miserable

If Koon outed this dirty laundry to the world (aka a few thousand people on Twitch?) then so be it.

People need to get the memo on this. It’s not the poker boom anymore and can’t afford to drive away customers by making the games unpleasant
