I always assumed Blitz was full of **** about this historical massive stakes match since no one had ever heard about it or who was involved, figured it was a front to cover for actually getting money from his crook father. Releasing such details has me leaning back in the other direction that it actually happened (although he may still be exaggerating the amount, but whatev). Interesting.

he def got the money from his dad, but it's totally possible he is up a significant amount live time from live poker, the two dont really conflict with each other

More Plates, More Dates interview with Bilzerian.

Some interesting information.
- How high stakes players use cryptos to avoid large tax repercussions.
- Beal wire transferring $750 million to Gores then being taxed half of it, only to have to transfer it back after losing. No there was no gambling loss write-off.
- Learning that Perkins was worth like $300-400 million then lost like $250 million or so.
- Bilzerian talking about the difference between going from $50 million to zero, versus 1 billion to $100 million. Realizing going broke is worse than just taking a big hit.
- lots of steroid stuff.

Funny thing is Bilzerian is the voice of reason. In the podcast, he said his friend "Bob" or something put everything into Bitcoin. It worked out. Dude is worth close to a billion. Bilzerian was telling him to cash out like $100 million to be safe.

Bilzerian said his Bob sold off his house/boat for $17 million and some other stuff to go all-in on Bitcoin when it hit like $3k? Haralabos has a day job working for Mavs. Also he doesn't sound like the gambool type to go "all-in". If the dude is now worth close to a billion, why does he still have a day job.

Around 28-29 min point in the podcast where Bilzerian talks about Bill (Perkins) and Bob (Voulgaris ??).

Oh ok, according to Wiki, Voulgaris left the Mavs in June 2021.

haralabos was just on uponly podcast and said his dream was always to own a NBA team and he figured it would cost about a billion dollars, but once he got there the idea of it wasn't as good anymore so he decided not to pursue it.

Also mentioned being all-in bitcoin from quite a few years ago and having no interest in holding cash

Geez, a billion dollars. To be conservative, let's say it was at the high of about $67k. That's about 14,925 whole bitcoin.

If he bought $17 million bitcoin at around $3k price, that's about under 5.6k bitcoin. 3k to 67k is like 22x. So that's only about $380 million at the peak. He must have like 10k more bitcoin before it crashed.

This makes me wonder what Micon is worth. That dude was even earlier into Bitcoin. Almost since the beginning.

I believe Bob said on one of the old school podcasts the way he developed a big bankroll was that he and I believe his brother pooled all the money they had in life and took one of the Shaq and Kobe teams at like 3-1. So he clearly is not averse to major lifechanging gambles.

Agreed. At least on this podcast it's pretty much even. Doug seems to get hung up on small points and Dan surprisingly stays fairly calm. Neither came across better or poorer then the other. Good pod.

I'm just 20 minutes into this video but Bilzerian is completely owning Polk. Yes, they were jokes but everyone knows Polk has been misrepresenting Bilzerian for years. Perhaps it was just due to his own ignorance, but that's the risk you take when you talk about things you know nothing about (in this case, knowing very little about the biggest poker games in the world).
