Just listened to Stern interview. First time I’ve heard the guy speak after years of 2nd hand info. Expected the worst but Dan came across just fine, even somewhat likeable. Was hilarious the way he dismissed Affleck & McGuire as small time.

I was just listening to his episode on the JRE where he's talking about how he beat a guy out of 54 million playing poker and that seems like complete bullsh*t, but just curious if there's any evidence that he's actually good.

The universe of people who have $50MM to lose in a single session and who play in a game large enough where it's a realistic loss isn't that large. You may give people the misimpression that there's an ultra secret game being played in Monte Carlo filled with billionaires and MI7 operatives where billions of dollars change hand daily.

I really wish we used metric in the states as it's so much easier. That said me and probably most people in the states have no real reference to that number other then "oh you ran a 5/10k, hurrrrr". We still use some ancient king's foot size as a reference to measure things. CM, meters, sure but them big numbers don't mean much honestly. We have to google km to miles to understand 18.5 km.

It's sad cuz using standard measurements is a total pain in the ass. I don't even remember how many feet are in a mile even tho I learned it probably 100 times in my life. Apparently it's 5280 feet for a mile, I woulda guessed 3200ish lol. That's how ******ed this system is. Being divisible by 10s is so on point.


What's really weird is that in construction and cars I guess I can remember using both metric and standard for tools at least. It's like we want things to be harder......
