I imagine there were a decent amount of recs who went to the Bahamas who would've gone to the Wynn. Pros can do both, recs usually can't/don't.

I wasn't in the Bahamas but I would wager the fields there were FAR more pro-dominated than stateside for the WPT event.

Speaking for myself, as cash game player who hates mtts, but moreso as a father, specifically the week before Xmas there's a tonne of stuff to do family or kids wise. Even someone like me would maybe plan a trip to something like this if they scheduled it not right before Xmas, maybe in October (im in the UK). You want normal people like dads etc to come to things like this, making it impossible logistically with the wife or the last week of school is dumb scheduling from the WPT imo. Also there's a pyscology behind planning a trip like this unless you're local, even if you run hot you know you might be there up until 21st Dec, maybe you have office parties or kids stuff to do, so you dont bother at all - those are the people you want there in the first place why out a barrier up to exclude them.

Husband and wife, Alex and Kristen foxen, both have large stacks with about 150 left. How sick would a final table with both of them be? Brad Owen is still in it which should make some good content . Who else is left ?

I'm with you on hating MTTs.

There's never a perfect time but this event happens at a time when probably more people are off from work than any other time of the year. Realistically playing until Dec 21st would be a once in a lifetime experience for almost anyone. I get the kids argument to a degree but cmon a ****ing office party is a worry if you can final table this?

Tons of people who play these big main events leave town once they bust. Same with the WSOP main event. Most people can easily plan to be home a week before Christmas and if they do manage to run super hot adjust from there.It's not a big deal to have to spend a few hundred dollars to adjust a flight when you run deep in a 10k. i really don't think the timing of this is keeping many people away, and it more than makes up for it with extra people who can't make other times of year as easily. I can understand that for you personally October can be easier.

Almost any time in vegas when i ask someone when they're leaving they'll give me a specific date. Yet in July so many people say when I bust the main. I heard the same thing a week or so ago when I was in Vegas "i'm leaving when i bust the main" or "i'm supposed to leave date x but I'm playing the main so we'll see."

Those allegations only apply to 3 handed. Also they offered the guy a 3 way chop and he refused. He'd later go on to say it was dumb of him not to accept a 3 way chop but that he did it because he thought the live stream would protect him from soft play.

What do you expect a husband and wife or couple to do in a 3 handed situation like that ? Of course I'm not going to try and knock out my wife lol.

I’m surprised with several tables remaining, the floor didn’t separate a husband and wife to different tables. Maybe they wanted the TV intrigue and drama.
