Not charging Hollywood/Poker celebrities and poker pros for rooms could probably only happen if a billionaire poker enthusiast really wanted to create a poker Mecca that has the highest limit games and the best variety of games and did not care that much about profit. They only cared about having a pure poker establishment.

Or possibly a group like Leo DiCaprio, Ben Affleck, Matt Damon, Kevin Hart, and the richest of them all George Clooney, buy a hotel like the relatively new 200 room Lucky Dragon that is going to foreclosure sale in about 2 weeks. They might even consider not even opening the rooms to the general public but having the place be like a poker country club that has memberships.

Or possibly just have half the hotel be for the general public and the top floors be for private memberships and celebrities.

“They might even consider not even opening the rooms to the general public but having the place be like a poker country club that has memberships.”

So why not just buy a space in LA for a fraction of the price, instead of a lame part of Vegas? Or just hang out in one of their already-owned beautiful houses? Or something else that has nothing to do with a poker themed casino?

Pretty sure all these celebs wonít want to downgrade from the likes of the Skylofts or Mansion at the MGM.

Didn't Molly of Molly's Game have problems with running a private game in California.

And this link

http://www.homepokergames.com/homepokerlaw.php

says:

The term "social game" is the term that statues use to refer to a legal home poker game. Here are some factors which usually define a "social game". The game must be played among friends only. Some states require players to have a "bona fide social relationship", which means that they must be real friends outside of the game.
The game is played inside a private home, and not in a public place. There is no admission fee or seat fee charged. There is no no rake. No one can receive any money or anything of value for conducting the game except their own winnings as a player... There is no house bank. These are factors which I have seen used only occasionally:The game can't be advertised to the public. No professional gamblers are allowed."

With a hotel/poker room you could walk to a restaurant to eat dinner. Or crash/shower in your room after a few hours of playing and come back to play after this long break. Probably wouldn't feel comfortable doing that in someones house.

Good point. That’s totally worth $40 million. Somebody might want to take a shower.

Yeah rich people who have very nice mansions in LA, Malibu, or thereabouts often have shared these "no place to eat or crash" concerns with Ted ... THIS is why, instead of using their car services, private chefs, or uber/uber eats, they will flock to invest in and patronize Ted's Poker On Sahara Hotel (Ted's "POS" Hotel)

Ted's working knowledge of his target investor pool and market is beyond words .... although words like non-existent, delusional, clueless and unfounded seem applicable.

Yeah they might if they want good games for them and their friends to play in on little or no notice. A place they can play in every day, 7 days a week. And a place Doyle or Tom Dwan or Daniel or a book author can drop by on spur of the moment. Do you know any Malibu types that don't mind letting their house be used every day 7 days a week (day or night), or don't mind book authors, poker celebrities, etc. to drop by anytime unannounced.

Excellent points. Clearly worth tens of millions.

If you haven't already, you may want to let potential investors know how to contact you, as clearly you're the man with the vision they need to see this through. Even if you have posted it before, you might want to do so again so they don't miss it.

Iím way too lazy to review pages 3 and 4, and although I believe the continued responses from the OP I are super levels, how does the playground poker room on a reserve in Canada make money? I know their rate is ridiculous, but you get free steak and drinks at the table around the clock all you can eat!!

Personally I believe the real trolls are the people who keep interrupting this thread talking about trolling. I've made 65 posts in this thread of 327 posts. It should therefore be easy for anyone to give three of my posts that they think are trolling and then give a detailed reason why they believe they are trollish. Trolls don't like detailed explanations.

If you don't like the thread I created, stay out, it's that simple.

Really, anyone who has stake in a poker room would care one bit about your dumb idea?

Sure there are people who don't give a **** about these people but there are some aging fanboys who might get something out of it.

Speaking of books, you could have permanent tables for authors and makers of training dvds. Once again you don't have to pay them, just have a space where they could hang out with their items.

These are types of things that what would make the place different from other poker rooms.
So let me get this straight. A place that has "famous" poker people walking around would benefit from getting extra income. So these names have some value you think. Now why would they come to your stupid cave for free?

It didnít have $40 million in startup costs, a policy of low rake, and tons of existing competition.

They already have those kinds of places in Las Vegas. They’re called casinos. Rich celebrities can do all of those things at a billion dollar resort on the rare occasions that they want to play poker, without needing to spend millions.

Or they could build a very nice separate annex to their house for a fraction of the cost of buying a casino, and have a private game. Look at Larry Flynt.

Sorry,"it's like your dreamin' about gorgonzola when its clearly brie time, baby . Step into my office .... cause you're fired."

Not surprisingly Well Read Ted spends a lot of time making lists of poker players, but insists any prospective investors should contact HIM for the brie he has, because he seems afraid of reaching out for their involvement; if he wakes up to reality, his brie dream ends.

Image not coming up for me but if you hit this link you'll see what the floor of the Lucky Dragon, Binions, or SLS might look like with the right marketing.

All of these pages and STILL not one iota of discussion from Ted about how much of his own money he intends to pony up. After all, if this was such a stellar idea, one would think he would already have his financial manager set to disburse funds for the purchase of the Dragon at auction...

Since he intends to put nothing up, we may safely presume he knows this is a loser of an idea.

Best way to make millions in a poker room is to begin with billions at the time of opening...
