I posted about this a few days ago but it was removed due to matt's name not being out in the public yet.

I know many people within the great poker community have had good times an bad times with adz.

Unfortunately no one truly close to him was able to stop what came to be a few days ago even with all public cries for help on social media that seemed to get worse an worse.

RIP to adz an condolences to any close friends / family.

I always had this strange soft spot for this guy, looked up what's he up to every once in a (long) while. I remember binging some old wsop coverages on YT, and saw this clip - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=72zk7dx1v38 - and I somehow just thought that he's an interesting guy ;p But yeah, he was on a downward spiral for a while now, he was "featured" in the legendary "Dan" song by srslysirius https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=smvKneQaI_Q , and that was in 2014, so it obviously got only worse from that point. Crazy to see these threads popping up about guys passing away who I grew up reading about on this site.

ADZ was a great person in my interactions with him. I'll never forget when it was freezing one night at PCA in the Bahamas and he loaned me one of his sweaters.

i do wonder if i, and others, got too much enjoyment from his completely mentally unhinged youtube videos. sort of a mini-version of the Brandy Hawbaker controversy (for the BH situation, i didn't partake in the forums)

one thing i always wondered is how he lived in the USA for so long (after publicly threatening many prominent people). and i doubt his parents were american (more likely children of italian immigrants to canada).

as far as i could tell, MM had very loving and concerned parents. his severe mental illness took that away though

one of my fun live poker memories was playing in a WSOP event with matt. he got into it with daniel weinman over a hand. weinman said something like "i dont give a **** about 10k (the buyin) and i doubt you do either. your watch probably costs 10k". matt replied in his typical style something along the lines of "this watch? it cost 30k. this shirt? eight hundred. these pants, fifteen hundred. shoes four thousand. bracelet two thousand."

i actually played plo cash and chatted with him a bit this year on ACR, where he was putting in tons of volume. someone mentioned/asked him him why he grinding so much since he was routinely smashing the rake rewards leaderboard and he brought up his son out of the blue, and mentioned that he was on a huge heater. he still sounded like his old self. its hard to believe he would off himself. i scrolled his instagram and the fact that his last few posts explicitly state stuff along the lines of "i'm going to be epstein'd" is pretty harrowing tbh. either he got into it with the wrong crowd and no one believed him because he was already apparently psychotic or he really did do it which is hard to reconcile with how confident and big of a personality he was. it's really sad whatever happened.

Damn that sucks RIP, i still remember playing 10/20 with him on Stars wayyyy back in the day (2006/7ish?) and he was super aggro and pretty much the new Hallingol with huge stacks on every table.

Played with him couple of times many years ago, he seemed...unorthodox, to put it mildly, but not mean.

I’m not sure how you can scroll through those posts and see anything other than the paranoid delusions of a very sick man.

It’s a sad situation for his family and the people that cared about him. Through reading some of the text messages he posted it seems as if he had people that wanted to help, but couldn’t. I hope they’re able to find some peace eventually.
