I'm not sure what the relevance is. I mean, I sort of see your point, but I don't think you're looking at it correctly. There's not likely to be a casino that attracts the true environmentalist, no matter where it is. I think the idea would be to attract people who would come to Vegas already and want a better environmental choice, or those who would like to go but don't because of the waste and decadence and might change their mind when presented with such a choice.
Of course it's silly in a lot of ways, because it seems unlikely you could ever balance off the environmental impact of a casino in a desert, but that's not how it works with most of us. Other than the handful of people who are able to live their lives with a glass jar that contains all their trash for a year, the rest of us are constantly making positive environmental choices right beside bad ones, so the contradictions and/or hypocrisy of such a casino would be nothing new.
Not that I'm saying such a casino is destined to be a success; this was just my long-winded way of saying I don't think having to fly to visit such a casino dooms it.
