Could FTP re-brand and operate in US? Could FTP re-brand and operate in US?

07-30-2011 , 04:46 PM
We all know FTP is looking for an investor to buy the company and that the investor was only interested in non US assets. Why could FTP not sell and the new owners simply create a new poker room in the US? There are poker rooms still in the US and there is going to be an opportunity for somebody to make a ton of money with the large void now in the US. If they simply re-branded with new owners why could the new owners not take the software and then simply re-enter the US as a different company and new ownership completely different from FTP. This would also make FTP value much higher since the software, which people love, could be brought back to the US and the US players could once again be profitable for them. Im not sure if this is even possible just kind of thinking.

It probably depends on how pissed the DOJ is probably. If they get relaunched they will probably try, though.

I agree that Epic Poker has something up their proverbial sleeve but it's not FTP.

Crooks do run rampant in the US....

Just gotta make sure to pay Uncle Sam next time...Fulltilt just forgot to grease the wheel.

The real question is will US players still come flocking like they once did? How long has it been again since they were operational?

They left the US on April 15th, since the we have gotten three statements(one of which was bashing Ivey), no $$$, completely unacceptable.

Yours truly,

P.S. the only thing that even remotely resembles FTP ever getting in the US is if someone buys their SW, e.g. Caesers/MGM etc.

Another thread on FTP? Really?

UB could do the same I would imagine and since they seem to really no give a sht couldnt they sell for the 50 million or w/e they owe to an "investor" and the investor change the name of poker room and start operating again in the US...like I said earlier im not sure this is possible but theres 100% going to be new online sites that enter the US to fill the current void, just thinking theres got to be a way for FTP/UB to "sell" and simply make a new room in the US...

Are you talking about getting licensed in the US (pending legislation) or operating off shore under a new name?
I guess it doesn't matter since they won't get in the US after legalization and if and when someone buys them they'll almost certainly maintain the FTP brand which what they're buying in the first place.

yeah how about ftp+ub joining their pools of players and not giving a f... about france and italy so that players from the whole world would recover their BR and could enjoy poker freely on an awesome softwa.....wait wtf

awwww... come on, these kids got no jobs, still living on a friend/parents couch (the ones playing on moms dime are just hanging), they are used to being up all night... cut 'em some slack and let them make all the pointless threads they want

real answer to the real question is--- once the gov't and the casinos get a price set for the permits, the US will have US only web sites up and running.

Early word is the other Phil (Hellmuth for you donks) is working on the deal with one of the big name properties
