Is the casino going to require guests to wear masks ? Not likely.

Did they upgrade the ventilation system to filter re-circulated air ? Doubtful.

WHAT about that video is supposed to make the viewer feel safe and the experience look inviting ?

Degens will play whatever is available. Like alcoholics and druggies will do whatever is available. Idk why ppl think there won't be 4 handed games

I'm not.

Over time, 4 handed will fade or be replaced.

Of course many players will play 4 handed and 6 handed but I would think the majority of rec players will not.

I play online a fair amount here in Canada and as I have said before vacation one or two times a year to Vegas. I will not visit Vegas till its back to 9 handed and the plexi glass is gone.
When I go there are three resorts I love the Red Rock, Southpoint and Araia bit I love it cause I can sit by the pool, shop and play poker in the evenings. The Red Rock and Southpoint allow me to catch a flick as well.

Sadly I am not sure when Vegas will get back to normal and see that cities tourist industry taking a hit

You can sit by the pool at most any strip casino, shop and play poker at night.
It seems silly to waste hours of a vacation to watch a movie, when you can do that in your home town.

Heck if I am there for a week and there is a movie we like we go see it. Its not like were going to one everyday

I think the check in on your phone is optional, to expedite the process. If you still want to so it the old fashioned way I believe you can still wait for a front desk agent. They also didn't address cash paying guests. I remember staying a Bellagio years ago and we could pay the room in cash plus an incidental fee. I wonder if that will still be allowed.

unless the talking stick room was full of regs with 100+ more regs on the waiting list, the general theme that recs will not play 4-handed did not hold true in this case.

Looks like the initial poker excitement even at 6 max has dissipated. At the Hard Rock Tampa I just called over there and the mgr told me it's a small crowd playing the past few days. I asked him how many tables of 2-5 are going and he said only 2 games and a 3rd game needs a few players. Told me a seat was open. Not surprising I guess and that is 6 max not 4 max. Can't imagine what will happen at the Venetian when they reopen.

You can check Hard Rock on Bravo. It is Tuesday, the slowest day of the week also.
And there has been a lot of destruction from protests in Tampa the last few days.
06-02-2020 , 08:36 PM
Bravo says theres one table of 5 handed nlhe going at the orleans in vegas.
I guess they didnt want to wait until the 4th to open, or to keep it at 4 max.
Seems weird its just one table.
06-02-2020 , 08:44 PM
They are not open yet, they probably just turned on bravo and testing it out. But it says 5 handed and like South Point posted, they are trying to get that, so maybe that was approved and they will all be 5 handed in Nevada.

Rec players, in general, are not going to be interested in short-handed poker, especially 4-max. Heck I bet even some good regs aren't interested either.

It was more relevant before smartphones put entertainment in everyone's hands but movies are very good for casinos because not only can spouses or kids go there while parents gamble but when people lose the max daily amount they can get from the ATM, movies gave them something to do while they wait for the bus or their friends. Plus it's an excuse to go to the casino to see a movie then gamble on the way out.

Interest in poker after having been unable to play for 3 months and long term interest is probably different. Including willingness to play in bad/undesirable game formats.

Looks like all the Vegas regs drove to AZ.

Could be a part of it.

The games are 4 max players. Once the Las Vegas rooms begin to offer the same service, we will see how the numbers stack up re your theory.

OTOH, right now , per Bravo, there are a total of 20 players playing ....

Walked through Talking Stick's poker room yesterday. Most tables had Plexiglas but about 25% did not. Not sure what that meant; whether they ran out of Plexigas ones and asked players if they were comfortable without it? Noticed some players needing to rock their chairs back away from the side shields to discuss hands or small talk, etc. Must be harder to hear another player when speaking directly into the glass. Maybe someone else can chime-in who played there.
