Where is all the plexiglass and masks?

Perhaps its time to add a second poll to this thread:

Will the post Corona Virus changes to the gaming floors and social areas alter your plans to travel to Vegas this year?:

[ ] I will be there soon after the casinos open their doors again, regardless of any changes the casinos are required to make.

[ ] I would only consider going back to Vegas if the gambling environment and social settings return to something like the pre-covid days.

[ ] It will be a long time before I plan to return to Vegas under any circumstances.

Stations Casinos just released new protocols:

"Cards to be dealt in a no-touch manner to guests or disposed of after use; chips to
be sanitized daily through electrostatic spraying, UV exposure or the application of
product which, if it proves to be effective, sanitizes chips for a period of 120+ days"

Not talking about poker here but if that is true would be big.

How do you deal in a no touch manner
05-18-2020 , 01:52 PM
They are talking Blackjack, etc. so would be no pitch games on casino floor.
There is no mention of poker at all in this pdf.

It did not click with me that one doesn't handle cards in blackjack, but yeah, when I think about it.

To further tip my hand as a casino noob, what other games will likely be suspended because of player contact? Craps comes to mind immediately. I don't play anything else but poker so I don't know the physical mechanics of the other table games (again, barely familiar enough with blackjack).

Baccarat? Pai gow? Literally have never played these, so I don't know which games are hands-free.

2 kinds of Blackjack, regular face up where player doesn't touch cards, and pitch games, 1 or 2 deck the dealer deals 2 cards down to each player and they look and keep them down and any hit cards are face up.

They are not eliminating games with contact, just extra safe where can be. Like eliminating BJ Pitch games.

"A spokesperson said the free parking will be implemented "for the foreseeable future."

It doesn't say its only locals in the article. Should be for everyone.

All cards are being dealt face up with only the dealer touching the cards.(not talking poker)

Dice are cleaned and disinfected prior to a new shooter.

Smoking is not permitted at table games.

It seems like with all these announcements hitting today that June 1st is a pretty good bet for some casinos opening in Las Vegas.

It would be nice to know what's the max at each table in their poker room. Hope it's at least 6. Start setting some trends.

That's good. 4 max would have been terrible.
05-18-2020 , 07:48 PM
They generally follow state guidelines tho. Derby is going with 6 max like they said a few weeks ago when they tried to open, I believe. So maybe there is no real number set for Florida, only social distancing plans. One track in South Florida that had the picture of 4 handed with the plexiglass.

Been meaning to ask....is your avatar from the Dead episode of Freaks and Geeks? If so you have a couple of nice nods to some classic music with your username and avatar.

oh god yes. Please make this the new norm in live poker.

In blackjack, the casino should make the dealer be the bank. Buy chips from the dealer, tell the dealer how much you want to bet and then let the dealer give you cash for your chips at the end. If that is too complex, put a cashier in the pit and let the pit boss cash out the player. That keeps the players from ever touching chips.
