I play at the Rio a lot even during the off-season from the WSOP and know people who have been banned multiple times. It's almost always possible to reverse a ban unless you've assaulted staff, but they will increase the duration of the ban each time.

Out of the options we have so far I'd rank the likely reason for banning as:

1. Actual behavior and some annoyance/revenge over the negative review (which mentioned some of the behavior).

2. Annoyance/revenge over the negative review.

3. Caesars company policy to permaban anybody from all properties for mentioning that they took a prescription drug in the hotel, just in case it was not acquired legally.

Although MJ is now legal in LV its specifically not allowed inside any casinos, so no thats not the same.

Odd that all this would be happening during the transition to Eldorado management. The news says Eldorado will purchase Caesars (the owners of the Rio.) Can't seem to find if the deal has already been finalized. I've been at a company that was purchased and the transition period is usually chaos for all the employees and management.

Why would a company spend time on something like this during a chaotic transition period? Maybe it was done by some low management guy who knew he might be out the door in the coming weeks and wanted to screw with someone as a final power trip.

I actually was banned from Caesars properties about two years ago. When I was initially trespassed (from Ballys in Las Vegas), I was told I was banned from all CET properties in Las Vegas.

I received a virtually identical letter to the one Stanhope posted about two or three weeks later telling me I was banned from all properties nationwide and my account was suspended. (I actually was able to take a trip to a CET property in another state and use my card/free play with no problems in between that time.)

There is an appeal process, which involves sending a physical letter describing your appeal to one of the heads of security. It took me several attempts to actually get someone to tell me the right person/address to send this to, but I was eventually able to get my ban partially reversed to play in the WSOP only.

It would really surprise me if Stanhope were banned for this review alone. I'm sure Caesars gets hundreds of reviews that are much worse and less accurate than what he posted, and I've never heard of anyone else getting banned from something like that.
