The truth is out there.

They have real names.

The names are linked to account names.

There is surveillance video.

It may be a crime in Nevada.

Reliable source.

Contact Las Vegas Town Square Borders and Las Vegas Town Square, and ask that the surveillance video be preserved.

Contact Las Vegas Gambling Commission and Nevada State Police. Ask that they determine if fraud was involved.

And how would PS know this, taking into account that they're using individual long-range wireless adapters attached?

Blake: You got leads. Mitch & Murray paid good money. Get their names to sell them. You can't close the leads you're given, you can't close s***, you are s***, hit the bricks pal, and beat it, 'cause you are going out.
Shelley Levene: The leads are weak.
Blake: "The leads are weak." The ****ing leads are weak? You're weak. I've been in this business 15 years...
Dave Moss: What's your name?
Blake: **** you. That's my name.
Dave Moss: [laughs]
Blake: You know why, mister? 'Cause you drove a Hyundai to get here tonight; I drove an $80,000 BMW. That's my name.

If any of them were playing on stars on two separate computers simultaneously it is multi-accounting at the very least. Try logging in to one computer, log in with a second and you will get the message "You are already logged-in from another computer. In order to login here you must first log off from the other computer". So it follows that the only way they can log in with separate computers is on two unique accounts. I find it very hard to believe that someone would have two different stars accounts open simultaneously in front of them unless there is something even more serious than "only" multi-accounting happening.

I am not trying to give you a hard time, but if you don't care who will?

Do yourself a favor. Open an investigation.
This is a key point. This isn't just some quack throwing out some gossip. I just wish that she had dug a little deeper. She easily could have found out what was really going on.

Oh and for the suggestion that we don't know they were playing real money games, yeah right.

if it's not "just some quack throwing out some gossip" why didn't they report it with some details that would be useful to review further?

That's always a possibility. But if they are all using cellular wireless, it begs the question: why are they at Borders?

If they are indeed all using cellular wireless connections, and not the Borders wireless connection, they could be doing this from anywhere. Seems odd they'd choose some place public in that case.

I play with my friends all the time in this way (not colluding, or even at the same table). And if I ever did play with a friend at the same table, trust me, I would NOT be helping them. I suppose it's obviously possible that they are colluding, but no where near conclusive.

At least one of the six or seven computers is using the Border's Wifi connection. Why else would they be playing there?

That is the key. Determine the Border's router IP address. http://whatismyipaddress.com/ The tweet was posted on 30 July at after 7:30 pm. Filter the Stars logs for that address at that time. You will have one of the accounts. There is also the possibility that another account is using a free WiFi account from another nearby business. I have been to that shopping center. Overlapping coverage. Many restaurants, etc. Lots of security cams. If you go after it you could even get a MAC address of one of the computers. Don't wait too long. The accounts will be drained.

Both written in the present tense.

Oh. And shouldn't this thread be moved to the Internet Poker forum?

Some of the finest detectives read NVG. It's a shame they only come out to use these great skills when there is an internet poker related crime commited.
