Truly bizarre video. Like "Oh, sorry about black Friday. Anyway see you at WSOP"

Hi Mason!

Yes, this is usual with attorneys, but any half decent PR rep would tell the attorneys that "we need to release a PR statement ASAP". If he is seriously sorry about this whole mess this is not something that has to wait 7 years. 1 year would be LONG, this is just pathetic. Even Lederer has been on the pokercast before this.

Yes, corporations go bankrupt, but in a business such as this that should have no effect on the customers money, which should clearly be segregated from operating capital. The whole "deposits -> operating capital -> distributions to shareholders" is just plain stealing from your customers. Granted, I don't have full insight into their financials, but since all the current information indicates this was how it was done, I'm not convinced "the whole story", whenever it is told, will vindicate Chris and the rest.

Best whishes,

The video would have been kind of reasonable if he hadn't already played in wsop events. Regardless, it's pathetic if he thinks that saying words on camera for 45s has any value at all to people that were affected by ftp.

This is a guy that had 10s of millions from cartoon-sized monthly ftp dividends stashed away somewhere while he hid out of the country in some mansion while professional players had their bankrolls lost in cyberspace right? I wonder what great contributions he's made to society with the enormous capital he siphoned and hoarded from the poker ecosystem.

Hi Muppet:

I think the poster, see Post #5, was complaining about other money such as rakeback that he had made. Isn't this different from depositors money?

Best wishes,
Mason

He can't memorize a 42 second speech and deliver it convincingly without acting like a robot? I thought he was supposed to be super smart? lol

42 seconds, each individual second a devotion to 10 million dollars worth of player funds he and his crew stole.

Don't forget he's had at least 7 years to prepare

If his lawyers advised him to keep his mouth shut, why didn’t Howard’s advise the same to him?

Pathetic as they were, at least he did The Lederer Files.

I took it as pre-WSOP P.R. His closing sentence mentioned it.

I think we're going to see more peeps trolling Ferguson on smartphone video at WSOP this year, given that players who messed with him got pretty decent social media exposure last year. This statement is really the only thing he could do to possibly curb it, but it will of course probably not work.

Ah, it was in reference to that. My mistake then.

The time it took for Lederer to make his first public statements and interviews on the FT debacle.

Weird video. It's remarkable he doesn't try to appear sympathetic to the "victims".
I wonder if he's devoid of understanding empathy (if he thinks he did sound sympathetic).
This has to be some preemptive defensive move so he's not "bothered" at the WSOP and even the timing...

I'm all for forgiveness but good god this statement doesn't seem genuine at all

Yeah I think Ferguson lacks some of the emotions normal people have. At least in a video, he probably does not have the charisma to make any statement seem genuine. His haters are only infuriated by this.

Why is Mason in here immediately giving full benefit of the doubt to this piece of ****

Just amazingly tone deaf

Has it been confirmed the co-mingling of business and player's money was the reason?

First the UIGEA happened and forced the sites to use questionable people to filter the money into the payouts. Some of those people rolled the sites for millions iirc.

Then the US seized millions on payouts and black friday happened.

I could definitely understand from the site's perspective how those things would get them in a bad spot.

And also....that's a horrible statement by Chris Ferguson. Would have been better to just keep derping around the Rio acting like nothing happened.

Chris F. seems dead inside... I'd hate to be him, even with all the money.

The Phil Helmuth tweet is beyond arrogant of him to make. These 'top' poker guys, the ones that have been in the "spot light" for this long (Phil H, Chris F., Daniel N., Howard L., etc.) are just a bunch of frauds in my book. Praying on the poker community, only in it for their own interests. Poker is a selfish game, I guess that's just what it takes??? Being a selfish, stealing dirt bag.... sweet life bro

fk this guy and the horse he road in on. he should be shamed out of the Rio the second he steps on the property. everyday if need be. he should never be able to sit at a live poker table and get through a hand ever again.

LOL! Please ... anyone ... explain to me why this video was made public by Chris!
I really mean it. How on earth does this happen? Did Chris just sit there after almost a decade and think: Hey, I could record a quick statement on video and share it...

I cant think of any reason why he would go public with this crap! He isnt completely brain-dead, so there must be some kind of reasing behind this decision...

^^ somehow he came to conclusion that it would be easier / less painful / less awkward for him to walk into Rio this year if he released that video.

will make it worse for him imo.
