Just as I was beginning to warm up to PokerCentral, they ruined the anti-sweat experience with asinine Twitch chat moderation.

Their strictly enforced policy of allowing only positive comments about Ferguson was shameful. Apparently the same thing happened at his Stud FT, at which the official commentator was singing his praises all night.

I don't know why you would want to force some narrative about Ferguson being a saint, PokerCentral, but it's not going to work.

Clearly the fix was in.

Because it’s owned by some top name pros who are either still friends with Ferg and/or don’t want poker to sound too “negative” by talking about the seedy side of it.

In what world do you live in where you think itd be a good chat to follow where everybody was just bashing on him? The guy is innocent and wrongfully accused to being with, and doesnt deserve all the hate to begin with.

I'm half joking about the "anti-sweat experience". But Ferguson is overwhelmingly disliked by the community, so it's very strange of PokerCentral to try to control the narrative and spin it the other direction. Even if you agree that Ferguson is a great guy, this should be concerning.

I don't blame Twitch for not wanting their chat to become a cesspool of constant libel and slander against an individual. That's what Twitter exists for......

That's not really how it works. Chat moderation is generally left to the individual streamer. The choice to paint Chris Ferguson as a great man and silence dissent was made by PokerCentral, not Twitch.

You can allow for fun/rowdy interaction without devolving into toxicity. It's not that hard, and most streamers get it. Tone deaf corporations sometimes do not.

i guess having villains in poker will be part of the next boom.

I support Poker Central's decision to keep the topic of conversation away from the Full Tilt poker scandal. Black Friday happened over 7 years ago. It's old news. It's not productive or enjoyable to have that be the topic of conversation every single time Jesus Ferguson makes a final table. It's a huge black eye for the game of poker and it's not like that's the only black eye. The poker world is full of scumbags and criminals..child molesters, sex offenders, thieves, scam artists, and low life degenerates that have cumulatively done just about anything and everything bad that you can think of. There is a very seedy side to the poker world and it would be incredibly foolish of Poker Central or any poker broadcaster to allow that to be the topic of conversation. The focus should be on the event and the moment at hand.
