“I worked relentlessly to ensure all players got paid back, and I sincerely apologize it took as long as it did.” ...those of us who were red pros and had a smaller balance than what we were paid rakeback for being a red pro got nothing -- will Chris pay us back our balances out of pocket?

Blood boiling.

Yes, I know red pros such as myself had a cushy deal with the rakeback and hourly and stuff. But at the same time, before being a red pro I almost never played LHE on full tilt, and basically had played exclusively high stakes LHE on Stars, so becoming a red pro def cost me a lot long term when factoring in the amount of hours/hands I traded from Stars to Full Tilt in the name of playing smaller but reducing a tonnnn of variance when getting that red pro deal (that is, until I ended up losing my balance on Full Tilt).

DOJ/GCG paid red pros: Balance - 100% rakeback - hourly = what you get. For a lot of red pros, this was a huge hit, and in the case of many such as myself, the result was getting nothing.

Hey Chris, I'd love it if you made me right out of pocket if you're so sorry. I know you have millions and millions in the bank, and technically, your company owed me that money.

That was pathetic. At this point I was expecting a giant middle finger with trolling but we get the obvious bull**** from cue cards instead.

A message to Chris Ferguson:

If you're going to wait 7 years to post your public apology, here's 2 small pieces of advice:

Make sure you're off book - and have your script memorized and aren't obviously reading cue cards...

Make your statement longer than 42 seconds - at lease feigning a tiny bit or remorse wouldn't kill you, would it???

Hi Alobar:

Let me use your post to make three points. Also, just to set the record straight, I know Chris Ferguson but only slightly.

1. In these type of situations, attorneys are involved, and from my own experience, the first thing that attorneys will tell you is to keep your mouth shut. Now I agree that seven years is a long time not to say anything, but my guess is, and this is only my guess, that at least a good portion of that time to keep quiet was based on attorney advice.

2. In our business world, there is something known as corporations and at times corporations do go bankrupt. Now I'm not an expert on this topic, and that's one of the reasons there are attorneys, but when companies go bankrupt, their creditors at best only get pennies on the dollar. For example, when Borders Books folded, they owed 2+2 approximately $60,000, and we received (so far) 12 cents on the dollar and this doesn't give us the right to demand the rest of the money from company officials. So while you may not like it, and it may seem unfair, if you still feel that you're owed money from FTP, don't expect to ever see it.

3. I do agree that Chris Ferguson needs to tell his whole story. In addition, when Ferguson makes reference to his fans, I doubt if there are any left. But a couple of thorough interviews, like the one that Howard Lederer did with The TwoPlusTwo Pokercast that can be found here:

https://pokercast.twoplustwo.com/lis...hp?episode=239

would probably go a long way towards getting him back in good standing with the poker community.

Best wishes,
Mason

you don’t have the right to ask for the rest of your money?

I don't feel I'm still owed money, but I sure as heck would never say I was "paid back". So if hes going to tell me he got me paid back, im going to say "where the **** is the rest of my money then?"

Good point about the layers, but I dunno, 7 years? seems suspect, especially when its a not very sincere scripted apology. If any of what he said was true, then he would have been better off just keeping shut until he could actually tell the whole story, imo.

Hi Alobar:

Your points are good ones.

However, I suspect, and this is just based on my experience, we'll most likely hear more from Chris Ferguson. This seems to me like a cautious first stab at communication with the poker community, and he wants to see how it goes and what the response is before he makes any additional comments.

But of course, this is my speculation and I could be completely wrong. But let's hope it's correct and we hear more from Chris Ferguson in the future.

Best wishes,
Mason

Hi SrslySirius:

For what it's worth, I'm on the side that Chris Ferguson was much better than many of his detractors think (but I have no inside information). However, I also think that Hellmuth has some questions to answer, something which as far as I know he has never done (related to the Ultimate Bet cheating scandal), even though in his case I also doubt that he did anything wrong.

Best wishes,
Mason

Forgiveness is never an easy process, and one that often seems impossible.

But there has to be a first step taken, and I am glad Chris is doing that, albeit later than any of us would have liked.

Hopefully we can all have open minds going forward...there may be details we don't know that change how we feel/think, even after all of these years.

I'm very interested to see what Chris' next steps and comments are, and as equally interested to see what the response is from people on this site that were harmed by actions associated with Full Tilt.

Hopefully someday we can all say, "That really sucked, but now I understand a little better and it's time to move forward."

Or we can tar and feather him, that would be fun, too.
