I couldn't believe when I read about the Binion's cage employee who basically withheld part of Dutch's tournament winnings because the cage employee's friend was "owed money" by Dutch. I was astonished that Binion's would allow this to happen, that a random cage employee could just not payout full winnings if a "friend" said Dutch owed them. I guess the Wild West days of crappy, corrupt casinos was not so long ago......
Didn't read the book, but, even viewed as favorably as possible to Dutch, sure sounds like it was not a voluntary payment by Dutch.
Does it tie back to pokerspot or was some other claim asserted or debt against Dutch.
FWIW, I would expect that a prejudgment attachment might be available if two folks were in litigation, especially over whether or not they had a staking deal to split winnings.
