I was not aware of that, and if true, my apologies to Dutch and his reputation. I’ve not read his memoir. Any good?

I found it to be a dynamic read, having juicy gossip on main characters of the poker boom, and a treatise on Bipolar disorder that may be the best ever written.

It's good to forgive the repentant.

But Ferguson hasn't repented for taking millions from the company while players were robbed. He hasn't admitted he did wrong. His 'apology' video implies he was just a helpless witness to wrongdoing. His story STARTS on Black Friday, ignoring that there was no protection of player assets BEFORE BF.

If Ferguson doesn't admit he did anything wrong, how can people forgive him for anything?

Yep, tbh those who have filmed themselves saying something to Chris have just come across as incoherent mumbling douchebags.

Sounds like the withholding was not entirely Dutch's choice.

The missing player money was reportedly about $400K. http://www.pokerhistory.eu/history/o...r-spot-scandal. Reportedly, Dutch and his brother were earning $160K per month at the sites' busiest. Not sure why a $400K shortfall could not be covered under those reported circumstances.

I read Dutch's book, I got it as a PDF for subbing to his Twitch channel a couple years back. Really fun read, I'd recommend it.

I couldn't believe when I read about the Binion's cage employee who basically withheld part of Dutch's tournament winnings because the cage employee's friend was "owed money" by Dutch. I was astonished that Binion's would allow this to happen, that a random cage employee could just not payout full winnings if a "friend" said Dutch owed them. I guess the Wild West days of crappy, corrupt casinos was not so long ago......

Didn't read the book, but, even viewed as favorably as possible to Dutch, sure sounds like it was not a voluntary payment by Dutch.

Does it tie back to pokerspot or was some other claim asserted or debt against Dutch.

FWIW, I would expect that a prejudgment attachment might be available if two folks were in litigation, especially over whether or not they had a staking deal to split winnings.

Why, are you planning to find out what kind of car he drives and use social media to to crowd-source finding it in the parking lot so that people can slash his tires? Because he'll probably just use valet or Uber into the Rio.

Can't you just offer to shake his hand after not washing yours after taking a dump?

I don't care one way or another about Chris Ferguson, but apologizing to people who you don't have a personal relationship with seems like a real fool's errand to me.

It never seems to change how people feel about you, and just gives them further reason for griping. If I were Chris, I'd have kept my mouth shut.

mixed feelings.

i really don't think chris ferguson should be a villain here. he was just a major shareholder. not an executive (at least not a top exec. if he did have a title)

as per mason's comment, he doesn't touch on the fact that the big problem with FT was that they made big payouts in reasonably short order before they went bankrupt. and chris got a bunch of that money. i think he should have donated that to charity at some point but i agree with mason's point that there were alot of lawyers involved.

He was one of the top execs. On his own wikipedia it says he was a 'founder' and the 'director' of FTP.

founder and director are not executives....... but director is problematic.

the real problem is that money went out to shareholders very late in the process

"...worked relentlessly to insure all players got paid back... sorry it took as long as it did". So his work eventually got players paid back? What a hero. Reminds me of turdeli.

The sincerity and depth of the Chris Ferguson apology brought tears to my eyes.

When the story is told, all will see Chris as a true hero.

Perhaps Russ Hamilton and Chris Ferguson can team up and tell a huge whopper!

Howard Lederer could be the MC.

Forgiveness is not given its earned and by that robotic tone and stupid look on his face he doesn't seem very sincere.

There was an extended version of this apology which was about twice as long.

It is my honest opinion that Chris waited to apologize until his neck was off the chopping block, which makes his apology insincere and purely to meet his ends/benefit.

He doesn't give a flying **** about you or me, he just wants to come back to the tables with a clear conscience.

Actually this one sounds pretty hilarious. Maybe tactically throw some **** covered black gloves on right before you see him and ask for a picture. Then have someone take a pic of his face after he shakes your hand and realizes there is **** all over his. His face would be priceless

Meanwhile, you ALSO are going around smelling like crap since you had to have pulled those gloves from SOMEWHERE on your person...

The sad thing is that some would actually think a stunt like this was funny.
