I was not involved, and the numbers may be off, but the story is still illustrative of what could happen.

I was railbirding a $200-$400 mixed game in The Bahamas during PCA in January 2011. Chino loses a few pots and is down to $1k. The 2-7 NL single-draw round is due in the rotation, which was played relatively low at $25-$50 and a $3k cap. Chino says, "I'm playing behind to cover the cap." No players objects (the game was 3- or 4-handed at this point).

Steve is dealt a pat-9 and beats Chino's pat 9 or 10. Chino relinquishes the chips he physically has in front of him and says, "I'm going to play behind if that's okay with you guys. Steve, I'll pay you back when I get the money from the safe in my room." Steve does not object, but Jesse, who is sitting directly to Steve's left, says, "No, that's not okay." Chino goes up to his room, and I think he may have flown the coop. To my mild surprise, he returns with a handful of bills and counts it down only to realize that it is short of the $2k that he owes Steve. Steve should have requested what he had there, but Chino disappeared for another 10 minutes and returned to repay the $2k and enough for a short-stack buy-in. In this story, no one ended up being owed anything, so Steve ran way above Chino equity.

I know Tony from Brooklyn who is in business of buying bad debts.. I can talk to him.. I think he may be interested in buying up some debts.... Don't worry about how he collects though.. He even collected some debts as far as 10 years back.. This guy is good...

He may get you .25cents on the dollar...

I don't think most ppl know subiime is Joseph Cheong. With Tom Dwan now confirming he got scammed too, I doubt he will be able to pull this off anymore.

Best case scenario is he is publicly embarrassed, gets staked by his buddy the grinder, wins, and pays back everyone. Goodluck.

Realistically, he scams people until he crosses someone that snaps and takes him out.

I felt it was somewhat relevant since i too got Chino'd the same week as Molswi. A big group of friends of mine were chilling in a hotel room, the day before the 10kgbp turbo in london. I had just met chino for the first time.

I was selling action at even money because i really wanted to play it real badly. i had 20% left to sell and a buddy of mine snapped it up in the room. With 10% left, chino turned to me and said book the last 10%. This was in front of 7 other reputable poker players. He told me he would pay me later as he didnt have the gbp on him.

I busted early in the tournament and chino ended up getting 3rd for like 120k pounds. He then proceeded to ignore all my calls and msgs for the rest of the week he was in london and never got back to me. Even though i was chilling with a group of his friends.

The first time i saw him after that i asked him for the money. He told me he didnt have it on him but he was sitting at a 25/50 game in bellagio. He then chilled with me a couple times and always brought up the money when he saw me.

There was one recent time that really was great. I was standing at the cage to register for the 2.5k mixed holdem event @ the series when chino steps up right behind me and says "Yooo buddy..how much did i owe you again?" i told him about 1.6k usd and he reached into his pocket and pulled out a wad of cash. At this point I was fully erect at the thought of chino paying me back. He then strokes the cash in front of me and says "ahh, sorry bro, just have enough for the buy in here" and starts smiling. I found this amazing as chino was having fun with the fact that he isnt ever gonna pay me.

Gotta love the slowroll.
lol great if this is true

Please, people... your violent threats make me sick. You beating him up is doing him a favor and putting your way of life in jeopardy. Think of the children and don't loan money to these scummy degenerates.

sickest part of this thread is that i knew chino owed money to at least 4-5 people i knew well and i found out about 2 more of them in this thread for the first time.

my next lodden thinks is going to be "how many people does chino owe 10k+"

ps. subiime, do you realize you're the prime example of why chino scams people? i understand your reasoning, but he's just going to continue to scam people because most people have your mentality.
Well said. Violence is not be the best option but he might think twice before scamming someone else after receiving a couple baseball bat hits on the kneecaps.

Think about this, really.
3. Both

Unfortunately a lot of us men operate on a code that comes more from an inner sense of justice and - most likely - a lot of testosterone. Some other men do not have it, I guess.

It's hard to explain. But, say someone hits a woman in front of me. I would hit them, fully aware of the consequences and legality issues.

btw I don't think anyone is suggesting murder

Sublime seems eminently practical and reasonable in his approach.

I do think, though, that one day Chino will stiff someone who is less practical... and he will end up on the receiving end of violence.

Here's a suggestion: for those who are Chino's victims, next time you see him at a tournament registration line, wait for him to take out his money then just rip the money out of his hands. If he fights then you scream "you owe me $40K, the whole world knows about it, so im getting it back". If you see him in a cash game then just say nothing, walk up from behind and grab his chips/bills. So you are not doing anything violent to Chino, you're just getting your money back when you see that he has money on him. Simple as that.

Trust me the casino wont do anything. This has been covered in other threads but casinos see disputes between players as between players themselves and wont even do anything if Player A for eg. doesnt pay Player B after calling an all-in and loses.
