Yea I mean fine you don't want to resort to violence, but people HAVE to bring this up every chance they get at a tourney etc. "Hey Chino, I heard you scammed a LOT of people, care to explain yourself?" Just over and over until he goes nuts or cries etc. Getting it on video would be great too. I mean afaik he is currently playing in the epic poker league, hopefully people bring it up. (and who was dumb enough to put him in the epl??)

i have a 2nd hand chino story of my own..

a guy who plays the 5/10 game at my local casino satellited into a wpt event in 09 and final tabled it for a cool quarter million. he told us a story of how fresh off of his win there was a juicy 50/100NL game running at the casino where the wpt was held. he clearly had some extra cash and wanted to give it a shot, so he took 2 racks of blacks to the game with him. chino had just busted from the game and as he approached the table chino was leaving. he said that he seen him on TV as part of the november 9 so he knew the guy was legit and when chino asked to borrow 10k off him so that he wouldn't have to go back to the hotel to get it and could get right back in action the guy agrees (he also said he was super nervous approaching the biggest game he'd ever played in and didn't want to look like a pussy by saying no). chino busted that within the hour and left as the guy i know was out for a smoke. he obv never seen him again and no one in the game knew which hotel chino was staying in.

chino is one sick sick f*ck, and so is grinder for keeping that kind of trashy company. both of these guys think they're such "gangsters" imo but they're such douche bags. without his recent binks grinder would be as broke as chino, and it would not be surprising to see him diong the same acts that his friend does. watching the espn coverage of their scum bar mitzvah as if they were some kind of high class well respected people made me sick

Eventually a repuation will catch up with a person like this. Especially when the people you are wronging are the ones you are around on a daily basis. Like subiime said, the best thing you can do is inform. Eventually all the stuff he's pulled on people will blow up in his face.

i just don't understand how people can just stand for it, that's the reason he keeps doing it. if nobody takes any action and just shrugs it off, he'll just continue doing it. someone should just dish out a few grand to some really shady people and beat the **** out of the ******. you're obviously not going to get caught, considering he owes money to half of vegas.

Actually mills, the prime reason is that people don't know that he does this. What's more likely:

1. He gets beat up and decides to turn his whole life around.
2. He can't steal anymore because everyone knows he's not good for it.

At the same time, when people chalk it up to "lesson learned" and shrug it off what motivation does he have to pay back? I mean if he ever read that (which I'm sure he will) he'd probably laugh and scratch you right off the payback list. Along with the other dozen people who've learned their 40k lesson.

At the very least, he should get the harassment treatment he got in that video posted earlier in every single tourney he enters.

It just seems like many of the people who lend people money are extremely naive and don't even think it through at all. Not to sound harsh, but it seems like there is just no common sense involved here.

In the OP, he states he had never met Chino before. Then he believes the story of Chino needing the money. Then he believes that the Grinder will cover for Chino. Did it really never even occur to the OP to get on the phone with the Grinder and confirm that before he lent the money? Maybe having tons of money clouds your judgment, but for us little guys, if someone says "lend me $XX and Joe will pay you back for me" we sure as hell would check with Joe first before lending any money.

Just because you've seen someone win money on TV is hardly a reason to lend money. The excuses are just so common to scammers. There is one at our casino who always says "my wife is on the way with my ATM card, can I borrow $100 until she gets here?"

The way you handle that is just say no, she'll be here soon. You can get your money then. Like that guy who gave Chino the $10k. Just tell him to go to his room and get his cash. The game will still be there when he gets back. And what did you think was going to happen when Chino lost his money? Were you planning on leaving the game and going back to his hotel with him? When you lend someone, particularly a stranger, money like that, you are assuming all the risk and inconvenience without any reward.

Yes, Chino is a scum bag. No doubt about it. But they way to stop things like this is for people to stop lending money to essentially strangers, and buying the bull**** lines they give you.

And all those who say "take him for a ride" etc are just silly. Sure, face kidnapping charges over $40k. Risk prison for a bad debt. Lots of internet tough guys. Russ Hamilton stole millions, and he's still walking around. Yet no one seems to have filed a lawsuit. No one has taken legal action against Chino.

So prevention is the best medicine. Scammers have a much tougher time when they aren't as many patsies around to scam.

Yes I agree there should be more harassment, mainly so everyone can be informed. If you read everything I wrote, I did not shrug it off and forget about it. I can't help it that I come off non-chalantly in an internet forum. If you think he never hears from any of us that he owes, you are mistaken.

But if you knew him you would know he really is broke and has no way of paying back. His motivation for paying people back is to clear his reputation duh. Like I've said before he isn't some genius scam artist trying to become rich - he started stealing in order to run it up and pay back his debts. He's just in too big of a hole now to care.

He's just another degenerate gambler, except he has no shame. He must have taken lessons from T.J. Neither care how many people they owe money to, or that they scammed people to get the money their shooting dice/bettin sports/black Jack with, or whatever they're spewing your money off on. They show up and hang around anyway, and search for more suckers to rip off, because they are "Name Players" supposedly. Heck, if I owed someone 1K, I would, at least like to have enough money in my pocket to walk up to them and say "Bro, I know I owe you 1K, but I'm still flat broke, but heres $50/$100 towards it, to let you know I have'nt forgotten about it, and will pay you when I make a score. These guys, have no honor, or pride.
