I can't imagine anything else than that Chino Rheem has crossed the treshold of misery. I believe that he has dug himself in such a big hole that he has crossed the treshold of misery. He knows that he is getting so much hatred and all the hatred he is getting is not helping at all. People exude hatred towards him in order to feel better about themselves, and very few people come with constructive criticizm at him, which would be a whole lot better if you ask me.

I am not defending Chino Rheem in any way, but am just stating the fact that you all should try to put yourself in his shoes. I think that deep down he is a good person (like all of us), but as I said, he has just gotten a bit lost. And sadly, poker players are the last ones to guide, as far as I'm concerned. I truly understand that you want your money back, and I hope you all get it in the end, but if Chino really has money, something has to be wrong. When people don't give a **** about paying, it can be pure selfishness but can also be despair. I think the latter might be the case here.
People sometimes need to hit rock bottom in order to learn or change and theres no reason to be pitiful about something like that, and there is reason to think this guy will end up with 0 friends, 0 backers, 0 reputation and the way I see it, that is a good thing for his personal growth. I dont give money to beggars, why? Because by doing so I am making matters worse for them in the long run. Their begging needs to stop working so they can move forward and do what ever it takes.

yeah and what about all the fulltilt scumbags who shilled for ftp all these years only to have them rob us too while they sit in there multi-million dollar mansions driving 200k + cars and have an unfair edge in big buy-ins like this 20k because they can use all their dirty azz money to buy in. They should be excluded too, friggen dirtbags.

I am one of the members of the standards of conduct committee for EPL and Monday we had a long but confidential meeting regarding players who have previously acted in a manner that would be deemed unprofessional.

Offenses such as cheating, poor sportsmanship, public intoxication, a criminal record, and failure to follow financial agreements are all things that the league will not stand for.

We compiled a list of all players who we believed had previously conducted themselves in a way that if continued would lead to their elimination from the league and personally reminded each individual that they will not be allowed to participate in the league if their future behavior is the same as their past behavior.

I don't want to talk about any specifics but I will say that people who are poor representitives of the game of poker will not last very long in this league and the epl will publicly "out" people who are kicked out of the league rather than simply tell them not to show up and keep it hush-hush
epic fail on this one timex. Does the league have an unlimited do over rule?

Wow really? You give us the lawyer talk bull****?
Hey Timex, you should contact Haseeb, he needs someone like you who can type 2000 words while dodging direct questions and concerns.

You obviously knew about Chino and given your "code of conduct" he shouldn't be allowed to even mention your League without getting bitch slapped, so what the ****?

This might sound like a good idea, but you cant do it yourself cause he will sue you and get a hold of even more of your money.

People saying they would 'contract' someone to do it, under estimate the reluctance the average person (and they themselves) would have to step up to some 'thugs' and ask them if they willing to **** someone up for 2k.

Another empty threat. Instead of talking about what you will do to people who have shamed the game, why doesn't the committee man up and do it?

Ohh, you put together a list...I bet Chino is shaking in his boots

First, obviously the bolded parts are lies given that you allowed an obvious offender of both in.

Second, we all know that your word is your bond. Right? Like when you said you were quitting poker.

The EPL is moronic regardless, just like pretty much any "invitational" type event in just about any arena, poker or otherwise.

Guys get off of Timex' back on this one.

Its silly to preban players from playing for not following the leagues code of conduct prior to joining the league. Its absurd and likely illegal.

I know i've learned a few things in the past few months by reading 2v2. The most glaring is that the media(espn) turned professional con artists, scumbags, and degenerates into superstars during the poker boom. The scams just never seem to stop with these "old guard" players. It's too bad there's no proof of how chip reese, amarillo slim, and doyle cheated back in the day, plenty of whispers about that crap too.

+1, the media, in particular espn, sensationalized the poker life, in order to sell the sport, and they did a damn good job i must say. Also, fyp

Hustlers (and suckers) in just about every industry don't see why you blame espn for poker having a few bad eggs and enough dopes to keep them in action. You don't think plenty of "superstars" in sports, hollywood, business, politics, and every other venue covered by the media aren't saints? They made them superstars for what they did on the felt the same way they make actors superstars for what they do on the screen, ballplayers superstars for what they do on the field, etc. I don't really remember espn putting Chino up for a humanitarian award (and even if they had it wouldn't be the first time a guy with skeletons had conned the media).

I was railbirding a $200-$400 mixed game in The Bahamas during PCA in January 2011. Chino loses a few pots and is down to $1k. The 2-7 NL single-draw round is due in the rotation, which was played relatively low at $25-$50 and a $3k cap. Chino says, "I'm playing behind to cover the cap." No players objects (the game was 3- or 4-handed at this point).

Steve is dealt a pat-9 and beats Chino's pat 9 or 10. Chino relinquishes the chips he physically has in front of him and says, "I'm going to play behind if that's okay with you guys. Steve, I'll pay you back when I get the money from the safe in my room." Steve does not object, but Jesse, who is sitting directly to Steve's left, says, "No, that's not okay." Chino goes up to his room, and I think he may have flown the coop. To my mild surprise, he returns with a handful of bills and counts it down only to realize that it is short of the $2k that he owes Steve. Steve should have requested what he had there, but Chino disappeared for another 10 minutes and returned to repay the $2k and enough for a short-stack buy-in. In this story, no one ended up being owed anything, so Steve ran way above Chino equity.
except for the person he scammed to get the 2k plus short stack buy in

chino is one sick sick f*ck, and so is grinder for keeping that kind of trashy company. both of these guys think they're such "gangsters" imo but they're such douche bags. without his recent binks grinder would be as broke as chino, and it would not be surprising to see him diong the same acts that his friend does. watching the espn coverage of their scum bar mitzvah as if they were some kind of high class well respected people made me sick
im sorry its bad enough when someone is friends with rheem for years and he screws them , but someone you never met before asks you to borrow 10k and you lend it to him you get what you deserve. That's just pure stupidity.
