I had no idea so few people knew about Chino.

First of all, he's a very charming, nice guy. Second of all if he ever won the lottery for $10mil, I guarantee he will pay everyone back (as long as you see him before he sees the pits).

I also don't want anyone else getting scammed so I'll say this: he has also scammed me for $40k and I know others in the same spot. The poker world is full of borrowing and lending money, so when a well-known player comes to you with believable collateral, it's hard not to lend money. For me, the collateral he offered was that he had a piece of the Grinder at the WSOP Main Event last summer. The Grinder confirmed this for me. But clearly it was offered to multiple people and I never saw a dime back.

Of course I hate having to eat $40k but there is nothing we can do in this situation. I'm not gonna get money back through violence. I can't sue (and even if I did, he's broke he can't pay). He still plays everything through either more scams or through his numerous connections in live poker so we do have to see him all the time. I do not expect to see a dime back unless he goes on a miraculous heater. It's an expensive and stupid lesson I had to learn (ie don't trust anybody) and have to live with. The best I can do now is to save other people from being robbed.

Moral of the story: Do not lend Chino money.

that is terrible, the poker community needs to come up with a legal way(ie. not violence that'll get you in jail instead of Chino) to punish him. there's no way he can somehow be banned from WSOP/WPT/etc? how about get him banned from Commerce/Bellagio/Aria/Venetian? you and Will Molson and Ben Lamb are big names in poker, cant you talk to the floor in Vegas casinos and Commerce? im sure no poker room would like to see more of its high profile regs scammed by Chino...

Does he even have his own house/apt or anything? A nice car? Or does he just carry his big cashes in a pillow case around until it's all gone from degenning around town? He's definitely making some people (i.e., live players, strippers, etc.) lots of $ which also somewhat protects him.

this. i want to know about his lifestyle outside of the casinos. IE where does he sleep, how does he cloth himself, etc etc

feel like the moral of the story is if everyone just rolls over and takes it, chino will continue to scam everyone.

You should 100% go after him legally. Go after him physically, go after him mentally and punish him in every way possible until he realizes its not ok.

How to solve the problem:

1. Obtain cement and water.
2. Carefully mix 1 tsp cement with 1 medium glass of water
3. Drink mixture.

NOW HARDEN THE **** UP AND GO GET UR MONEY!!!

No need to ban him from anywhere. He hasn't cheated in-game. Plus I want him to win so I can see some of that money back - so it would be counter productive.

There is no legal recourse. Physical? What, so I can lose money and go to jail too? Brilliant. Also if he's such a sick scam artist do you really think he would change his ways or pay everyone back from his non-existent bankroll after a beating?

The best way to keep people from getting scammed is to inform the public.

Legally you guys wont see a dime, I am sorry, but I think I would resort to violence over 40k with out a doubt and I don't wana hear if we resort to violence then we will never see anything. Id rather beat the piss out of him and never see a dime than wait for ever for him to ship something and hope he doesnt spend it or pay someone else and you lose out again. Some one needs to man up and put a beaten on this punk.

Some people have too much front. Sometimes the only way to bring em back to reality is to scare them back. Doesnt nec have to be violent, maybe just a "Hey chino come for a drive"..pick up a shovel and some plastic on the way.

I'm not saying it's not understandable to have this sort of reaction. Especially if 40k meant everything to your life. As it stands Molson and I clearly have more to lose than 40k by going through with any action like that.

Also, I have been cool with him prior to this - I'm sure it's not the case for everyone else in the situation but he's not some complete stranger to me, I treat it more as a "friend" that has serious problems and needs help.

I'm done responding to questions or statements about why I don't resort to violence. On top of everything I have already said, I'm just not that type of person. If that makes me a pathetic nerd, it's probable you lead a sad life.

you should have some self respect....money isn't everything, sometimes you gotta make decisions that aren't financially the best......he should suffer in some way, even its as little as being banned from casinos - there should be some justice in life. maybe you enjoy getting ****ed up the ass left and right, but something needs to be done.

You guys wonder why people keep getting scammed by him it's because of statements like the two above. Not even referring to violence at this point, but when it seems like every single person that has been scammed by him has this EXACT same reaction, it's no wonder he keeps rolling people.

Actually the reason people keep getting scammed is because they don't know that he does it. We are trying to fix this by informing the public. And it's very logical to not expect a dime back from someone that doesn't have a dime.

I was laying it on a little thick but you were also implying that someone might hurt someone because it says to do it on a message board. That is a little bit too John Hinckley even for the people who hang out in NVG.

your a true sucker if you really believe that bolded part.....and yeh 40k in your position isn't much for the time being, but once variance evens out for ya, that'll be alot more significant especially if your paying US taxes.

I am not advising or advocating beating him up, but just shrugging your shoulders and saying meh its 40k is ridiculous.

Call his mother, grandmother, neighbors. Post this stuff on all the poker sites, tell his backers.

Make his life a living hell. You are never going to make sure EVERYONE knows about him, so take some action.

lol SNGplayer you seem more angry than me somehow. Don't get me wrong, I'm not happy about the situation. You and I clearly have differing opinions about what "self-respect" is. And you are contradicting yourself by saying "money isn't everything". As for me being a sucker, you can believe what you want, this thread isn't about me. This is about letting people know not to lend him money.

Well,

Here's a thread I started a while ago about poker players going broke...

http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/29...-broke-899184/

Granted, I said some stupid things in it (that I'm convinced of btw lol), but there's a tiny line on Chino Rheem in there.

What happened was that when I was in Vegas for the WSOP 2010, I saw Chino Rheem settling a debt outside the Bellagio poker room with some bulky (or fat) Asian guy.

They were shouting very hard at each other, and honestly can't remember what they were saying but my wife pointed out "Well apparently, the skinny guy owes the big guy money and can't pay..."

I posted this on the thread long before any of these Chino stories came out and just thought I'd confirm that he's a shady c.u.n.t

Cheers!
