As for this scumbag, if he owed me $$ you can bet your ass i would have hired two ufc fighters for 5k each for the night, and would have been railing this hard. I'm sure he'll pay back some of the more visible loaners and backers, but i'm also sure that if you're not a big tv pro, without alot of influence, than this scumbag is going to stiff you.
Agree with the part about chino only paying back the more visible players. I'm very doubtful that the non tv pros , and unknown internet players that have lent him $$ will ever see a dime. That's the art of the chino you know, pay back the more visible and well known players so theyll vouch for you, and completely scam everyone else. Degens vouch for each other, don't know why this concept is so hard to understand.

Also for everyone else cheering on benba for stealing an extra $100...I mean come on, you hate on one guy for his integrity but not another? I'm good friends with benba, and guess what, I'm the one that counted the money out for him. If I made a mistake I fully expect him to return it to chino. Otherwise you become the same.
Those are very wise words subiime. I agree. Don't become that which you despise. It's this type of thinking that allows us to reach the next level.

In defense of Chino, having unintentional delays on debt payments doesn't necessarily make you a bad person. Many people worldwide owe money to various creditors or associates. Some of these people may be trying to scam, but most are people who did not intend to hold out on payments. Life randomly creates situations for us to deal with and it's up to us to learn what we can from each experience and improve ourselves with the knowledge we've gained. In Chino's case, integrity is not lost if he learns from his mistakes and tries his best not to repeat them.

The question of integrity in both cases is the same. Were they able to pay when the time came or did extreme circumstances prevent them from paying for an extended period of time? I'm not saying either of their actions are justified, but perhaps they were unintentional and we should be more forgiving. I think during a debt the moment a person owing decides he won't pay or that he can get away without paying and abandons the situation he certainly becomes bad. If during a debt the person owing has every intention on paying and making things right when he is able then integrity remains. With an exceptional person like Chino or an exceptional company like Full Tilt Poker I think we should be willing to make exceptions. With an act like loaning money and a game like poker I think we should be even more willing to accept problems along the way. In the end I honestly don't think speaking poorly of someone or trying to damage their image is the right way to go, it's an act with negative expectation.

Not paying an interest-free loan to a friend is a lot different than not paying your 19% interest debt to the credit card company. Nice try though

I don't think we should assume all loans to friends are interest free. We also shouldn't trick ourselves into thinking one is worse than the other. When it comes to debt not paying is not paying no matter how look at it, and intentionally not paying from the start or along the way should be the true indication of character. Sure we can be upset that we didn't get our money back, yet, but it's unreasonable to hold anger for someone that never meant wrong and will pay back when the time comes. In my opinion true friends shouldn't be concerned with receiving interest, but true friends should be concerned with offering it.

I don't think either should be considered cool. Making friends a priority is of course a good thing to do, but other debts must also be taken seriously.
