Looks like Chess is absolutely crushing poker in popularity. Look at the two screen shots I just took of the top two online chess sites:

Chess.com= 349,477 players playing

LiChess= 108,826 players playing

These numbers are far higher than any online poker site today and even better than the numbers the poker sites had during the poker boom of mid 2000s

That's no surprise to anyone. It is legal to play chess in the entire world and for all ages.

FWIW, if you want to compare numbers between platforms, you probably shouldn't look at real money poker sites but at stuff like Zynga Poker or whatever people play these days.
